Right here. 13 years in a Highland Regiment. Got married in my CF's which was a kilt and tunic. That is our "dress uniform". I've toasted,eaten and hurled haggis[:D]
My mother is clan Gordon. My father is clan Sinclair. I wore the McDonald tartan. Got a pic of me here somewhere in uniform. |

Mother's side of the family Clan Donnacaidh (Reed, sept of Robertson) and my father's side were from Fife County. Came over to the US in 1853.

Sorry that I missed this until I did a search...
Lamont Highland Clan Argle-Sutherland region of Scotland Actually my family is a Sept of the Lamont Clan. I do have the Kilt, and all the good stuff that goes with it, except for a Dirk...looking for a good one. As soon as I can find the wedding pics, I will scan a pic of me in my Kilt along with the other two that showed up in similar fashion...the Piper and the Drummer. I like to read the Declaration of Arbroath every now and again...I get the same feeling reading it as I do reading the Declaration of Independence.
Erickm......my ancestors stole cattle from your ancestors.... [}:D] The Lindsey's and the Donnacaidh's (also known as Robertson) are Border Clans...meaning they lived along the border between Scotland and England. The Nixons, Kerrs, and Armstrongs are also prominent Border Clans. The Border was a lawless place, especially prior to the Union of 1707 which joined England and Scotland. Cattle thieving, extorsion, kidnapping, and murder were popular pastimes on both sides of the Border. The Donnacaidh's and the Lindseys were usually rivals and rustled cattle from each other as often as possible. I'm willing to bury the hatchet if you are.... [BD] |

The Gow Clan goes back to Pictish origin( I know they were pagens,but we've moved forward since then.)Coming from the Ancient Invernesshire Family,before the 1100's. William Wallace would be proud!!! |

I have 2 very close friends that were in "The Watch". When they(Canadian idiot government) disbanned the Black Watch the Regiment was absorbed by The Royal Canadian Regiment(RCR). Quite a few Black Watch members burned their kilts rather then turn them in.

What the hey! Let's go with the pockets, anyway. After reading his site, he doesn't make alterations in the design. I WOULD go with the NeoTraditional, though. Forget the AR15.com logo, as we'll all be wearing the AR15 t-shirt of course, or else one from CavArms. (Support ye local Clansman!)
I'm in... Woodland Camo Neo-Traditional (yeah, even with the pockets. Too bad they're not bellows pockets). Anyone else? By the way, Concedo Nulli means "Never Surrender" Semper Fi! Now THAT'S an IDEA! Striker: How much does your mom charge per kilt, on top of cost of the tartan (or Camo?)? I am looking for someone to make a kilt for me, anyway, in Little of Morton Rig tartan, but I'll have to get it custom made, at about 60 bucks a meter. That's 300 bucks for the cloth alone, without the shipping from Scotland. Unless, of course, she's able to get it cheaper.
But, I like the idea of a cammie kilt. If we can get the heavyweight twill material, would she make some for us? (WITHOUT pockets! [8D] I'd go with Woodland, myself. Let us know... Semper Fi! Ken Little |

Well guys there's good news and bad news. The good news is..she makes top of the line kilts. The bad news is..she makes them by hand,it takes a long time to make one, it involves being measured several times to get the kilt to "hang" right and she is a little older now and couldn't handle the # of kilts you guys would order. Thanks for asking though. She will get a kick out of knowing a bunch of AR owning good old boys wanted her to make them kilts[:)]
Check the link I put in a previous post above. They should be able to provide you with a price. Although to get a kilt that fits you right..you need to be measured for it. |
