Recruiter = used car salesman. You can be forced to become active in time of national crisis. Ask the retiring Air Force personnel, that are not retiring afterall. In time of war, all bets are off.

1st: Gotta love them Airborne Cavalry Scouts.
2nd: If the Army has the same retention policies as the USMC, if you are in IRR status, you can join your local Reserve unit without accruing any further service obligation. Check with your local Reserve unit's S-4, not the local recruiter. Semper Fi! Ken Little |

If, in a period like now, going IRR from the navy is rarely approved unless extreme hardship is proven. Stick with the Army, you'll probably be happier with what you already know. Sherm |

the thing is...
there are no Reserve units that have combat arms (well, there may be a few but they are few and FAR between) i could reclass to be an MP here but that would take AT LEAST 6 mo. the National guard has combat units but just infantry around here i think are the national guard even deployable? BTW, no other branch will take me. only the Army takes prior servicemen |
