It sounds sort of logical. Your dealer might have lots to sell to you today, but he soon might not be able to restock.
What happened during Desert Storm? Was there a supply problem for us civilians? |

Sounds like typical gunshow dealer BS to me. Get a little rumor started and enjoy the sales while guys go into panic-buying mode.
It may be true, but I doubt it. Got anything more substantial to back it up? |

There was a shortage of winchester, but by april it was selling as surplus at gun shows.

Question: How do you know when a gun show dealer is lying to you?
Answer: You can see his lips move. (Originally this question dealt with lawyers.) Actually this might happen – I recall a news story several months ago that the military didn’t have enough handgun ammo to finish the year. With these additional units being activated, there could be problems. I wouldn’t buy overpriced ammo because of this, but I wouldn’t let my stock get too low, either. I remember a gas mask storage during the Gulf War. |

I read this over there also. All I can tell you is that I called this dealer Friday and made my usual going to the range order with no problems, .223 and 7.62X39 They had it in stock and said it would be at my door on Monday. I tend to shoot Wolf so I doubt our military would have much use for it. As to imports and shipments I would guess there would be some disruption at the moment for any shipments through the port of NY, I would guess this would simply mean that shipments would have to enter through another port and customs warehouse.

There was tons of ammo at the Houston gun show today, but it was moving briskly. Unfortunately, due to the WTC incident, my paycheck is somewhere between Chicago and here, and I haven't gotten paid yet. I scraped up enough cash money to get some magazines, but didn't have enough to buy any more ammo than I already have. My check is supposed to be available on Monday, so I'm going to place an order for a couple thousand rounds of .223 and .40.

I've always got plenty of ammo. (Except maybe those precision eyeball pokers that take so long to make). FWIW, plenty of ammo at OGCA show today. |
