They could have shot them down, but not knowing what we now know, it's quite possible they would not have shot down a hijacked plane. I guarantee you that they would shoot them down under similar circumstances from this point forward. Also, after the first hit, they might have shot down the second one once it turned towards Manhattan. |

Their bases are too far away. The fighters to intercept the Pentagon plane were coming from the Virginia Beach area, not Andrews.

It is still my theory that the Flight that crashed in PA was shot down.
