They complain that head and chest shots are too harsh, then leg and lower body shots are too harsh. I guess if everybody just threw stones it would be okay. But what about sling shots? I believe that they will kill also. I agree. Don't throw rocks at troops with guns.

This one (called SS109 and invented in Europe) is much less prone to tumble once is inside a human body. The Russian counterpart 5.54 instead is well known to be one that is still literally "whirling" when penetrate, doing a much worste job than the M16 bullet. But I see that nobody is talking about it...
So I think that is really unfair to propose to a public that know a little about terminal ballistic a picture of the M16 (and only of that weapon) as an inhumane weapon, and also a wrong picture of the one that are using it.

This pistol/revolver/rifle was made to kill, it's bullets where made to kill. The sport of targetshooting/IPSC etc etc came after the concept of inducing trauma to your opponent. Dont let anyone fool you a sportingrifle is anything less lethal than a military weapon.

That said we have some safety rules...and you will learn them until they are automatic.

Now these so called humanitarians dont want head and torso shots with the evil 55 grain FMJ shot out of 1/12 M16A1's the IDF uses. With the injuries they have seen from that they advise leg and abdomen shots. Knowledge of anatomy was never considered a measure here. (taking a chestwound over a abdomen wound anytime if forced to choose).

No, Paolo, I do look at US history in the same light.  What the US and U.S.Grant did was nothing short of what Nazi Germany did during WWII.  Compare a US President and Hitler?  Sure.  
They were very similar.

The past is past, we are looking at today.  Do I believe that Israel deserves to maintain it's security?  Sure.  Does Palestine deserve Statehood?  Sure.  But why is it that the US always puts pressure on the Palestinians to yield and gives Israel a free hand to pursue ethnic cleasing?  We have sanctions against Iraq, yet we give Israel a free hand.

If we are going to look one way, that's something else.  We are FUNDING this campaign.  I really do believe that if the Jewish lobby was weaker in the US, the US government would put more pressure on the Israeli government to settle this, compromises would be made, and peace might be had.

No matter how you dice it, the Palestinians are getting the shaft.

I got a better idea.  How about when the the rock throwers get started, the Israeli's use helicopters and cargo planes to drop tons of boulders, paving stones, belgian block, etc. on the crowd!

The AR15/M16 can be either a tack driver, or a terrible 'wounder'..depending upon what ammo and bbl twist you're using. A few yrs ago we experimented with some M855 ball ammo thru our older AR 'uppers' with the 1-12" twist bbl...got about 10"-12" groups at 50 meters with LOTS of keyholing.  Not very accurate for long range shooting, but those keyholing 62gr projectiles sure wound cause real bad wounds at ranges under 100m....  

Try some yourself..shoot some pumpkins or watermelons, or the like with M855 using 1-12" bbl, and then again using 1-9" and see the difference.  I'll bet you'll get much better simple penetration using the 1-9" bbls, and less "explosive destruction" of pumpkins [:D]

Just for the record, I don't want to be shot in the chest..OR..the abdomen.
