I'm applying for a job with ODOT (Oregon Department of Transportation) for working on a roadway maintinance crew. I need to fill out this supplemental questions form, and I'm looking for good answers to this question:

List 15 (or more) items of work behavior that you think ODOT will expect of you, stating with the most important items first.

The job would involve working on roadways, making repairs to signs, road surfaces, reflective markers, and guardrails. It would also involve snow plow and sanding trucks durring bad weather conditions.

I've come up with 10 or so, but any good answers from the greater mind would be apreciated.

Crew safety, individual safety, compliance with Dept. policy and standards for job performance, effective use of time, preparedness for each job, timely in reporting for work, documenting work performed, assignment completion in timely manner.....

Leaning on a shovel.
Pack up and go home if it's cloudy.
Close lanes that have nothing to do with what you're repairing.
Only work during rush hour.
Spend weeks doing a two day job.

Nevermind.  That's TXDOT.

Road crew supervisor drives up to a work site and sees the crew leaning against the trucks. He's furious. He jumps out and says, "What the hell are you guys doing leaning on the trucks?"

The foreman replies, "Well, we don't have any shovels."

The supervisor says, "Well, for God's sake, don't lean against the truck. Lean against each other until we get some shovels out here for you to lean on."

The website linked provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) as well as job tasks one engages in on the job.  These KSAs and job tasks are based on a job analyses done by professionals.  If the ODOT knows what it is doing, it hired one of these professionals to analyze the job you are applying for and if you can demonstrate you have those KSAs then you should be well qualified for the job.

Did you hear that \Cal-Trans ( California ) will be laying off 50,000 employees?
Seems the Japanese have invented a shovel that stands up by itself.
