I invited a bunch of friends to come see Shaun of the Dead in my room. Nobody came at the scheduled time. So I swing by one room and invite both guys to come. Neither of them feels like it. Swing by the next room and invite two more friends. Neither of them feel like it. Head to the next room, he doesn't feel like it and I get subjected to a skinny Japanese guy in his underwear. *shudder*

So, I head over to the next dorm and knock on doors. Nobody there. Knock on the next one; he's obviously in his room since I can hear him moving around and muting the tv, but won't answer the door. Asshole. I go to the next room and nobody's there but the door is open. So I change both their desktops to gay porn and head back to my room to bitch on the internet.

Why is it so hard to get anyone to watch a simple frigging movie?

The one that muted the TV was probably pulling his pud. When I lived in a dorm with thin walls, I turned the TV on to cover the sound of porn. Sometimes people knocked on the door while my hand was on meat. I would wait patiently for them to go away. I didn't take long, ususally.

One time I was in the midst of some self-gratification when there is a knock at the door. And more knocking. Turned out that it was this girl my roommate was hanging around. And she wouldn't go away. "Matt? I know you're in there! I hear the TV! Just because James isn't around, does that mean we can't hang out?" I couldn't answer the door, I had gone too far to turn around....and after the first two minutes, how the hell was I going to explain taking so long to open up? So I did the only thing I could think of...waited it out.

So, just wanted to say I hope you didn't stand outside the guy's room shouting at him to open up.

Oh, and, I was in .mil. I got divorced, and,I used to watch "Casablanca" over and over again....I'd stop when my roomie was present, but, he'd catch me watching and was like....Eventually.."So whats this movive about?"

I walked him through it....(If you don't know 1939+ history, you'll be lost at times) He was energized, and, brought a number of other young troops to appreciate Casablanca.

Sometimes it's about being an enigma :)

Your friends just MIGHT be doing their own thing tonight. Don't take it personal. Tonight's second only to Christmas to most folk as far as nice memories go and those folks you wanted to share it with may have had other plans that reinforced those feelings that didn't involve sitting around and watching DVD's.
