I could not find statistics on education levels in the National Guard or Army Reserve. From my personnel experience I can tell you that most NCOs in the Guard and Reserve have an Associates Degree or higher in Education. All of the E-5 and E-6 boards I sit on in my career in the reserves the packets with college education were the majority. The truth is if you study hard and make good grades you will lead soldiers in Iraq. Today’s Army is smart and intelligent. If your dumb and don’t study you may be able to be a Senator for Massachusetts. But you won’t cut it in the Army.
