Leave out the cat and dog remarks. What's your favorite dish from your local chinese resturant?
I'm ordering out tonight and I can't decide what to get. Cashew Chicken, Mu Shu Pork or General Tso's Chicken.... |
General Tsao's.
how come General Tsao's is spelled differently in every Chinese Restaurant. In fact, I've seen some places spell it General Gao's. Which is it? |
+1 The hot beef with the brocolli in it is good too! |
edamame
won ton soup chicken rice wrap Broccoli stir fry with chicken and of course, Sum Yung Gal |
Kung Pao - Chicken or Beef, with steamed rice.
I had bulgogi at a Korean place today, and it was faaaantastic! |
Honey glazed shrimp with candied walnuts
Can't go wrong with orange chicken either. |
Sweet & Sour Chicken
Moo-Shoo Chicken or Beef Fried rice and egg rolls Egg drop soup Mongolian Beef Cashew Chicken |
Lo Mein with the really small rice noodles.
Egg Foo Yung is a close second. |
Do not mock General Tso. China's highest military honor is to have a chicken dish named after you.
I'm a General Tso's girl.
The Chinese place up the street keeps joking that they're gonna name a variation of General's after me because I get mine with carrots, broccoli, and water chestnuts. |
Can't go wrong with the General.
So who the hell WAS General Tso anyway? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zu%C7%92_Z%C5%8Dngt%C3%A1ng According to the Wiki entry, General Tso's chicken was actually invented in New York and just named after him. No wonder I like it so much, it isn't even real Chinese food! |
+1, my man! Eh, hey Round-Eye! |
I'm only talking Americanized Chinese food here, coz there's a few places here that serve real Hong Kong noodles like won ton mein, chow fun, gao gi mein, gon lo mein, peking duck with pancakes...cant remember what that's called.
Hell, most Chinese Food you get here in the states is not even real Chinese food, so don't kid yourself. You think your avereage Chinese man would last long enough eating a steady diet of Gen. Tso's Chicken and Egg "Don't Drop It Now" Soup?
You want real Chinese Food? Go to China. |
Hong Kong is close enough to China for me. |

We usually get an assortment of appetizers (delivered).
If I was getting an entree, I'd get shrimp with lobster sauce. Second choice would be sesame chicken. |

Ditto with Italian food. But hell, this was posted in America, so I answered as such. |
I've yet to find any good chow fun in Austin. My once or twice a year trips back to CA lets me get my fix. |

Try Egg Foo Yung in a sandwich! Just slap the egg patty between two slices of bread or better yet, in a nice french baguette....add some hot chili sauce and enjoy! |
Strange...for Pork it showed a cat....and for Dessert it showed a cockroach....Hmmm. |
