What's up with the long flash suppressor/bi-lock thingie? Wouldn't that make a sound suppressor unecessarily longer?
Cool pics! |
I want a FN P40!
Best bang for the buck IMO since they're $350 and come with 3 mags! |
other way. the "flats" on that FH are [roughly] where the barrel threads are. the suppressor mounts back farther because the suppressor threads are behind the barrel threads. as a side note, i sure hope a semi-auto SCAR comes out before another AWB... |
That still doesn't make any sense. If the toothed locking ring thing was closer to the muzzle wouldn't that shave an extra inch or so off of the suppressor length since it wouldn't have to extend as far back past the flash suppressor to engage the lock? If the flats are where the barrel threads are then obviously it wouldn't decrease overall length, but the suppressor itself would be shorter/lighter. |

Thanks for sharing the great photos!
By any chance, did they have the FNP-45 on hand? |
the suppressor length is the suppressor length. this way a large, efficient, can only adds a couple inches to the gun. it's a way to make X length suppressor stick out only a few inches past the muzzle. the guns balance and handle better with a suppressor mounted like that. if you were to take a thread mounted suppressor, or a non-reflex QD suppressor, the whole length of the suppressor hangs off the end. to make one of these only have the same added length as a reflex suppressor, the cans would only be like 3" long, and therefore not work very well. |

I'm really becoming a fan of FN, the FNP is on my short list, along with hopefully a SCAR
Nice pics.
The masturbation content in this thread is high... |
FN rocks. My FS2000 is a sweet rifle, and the FNP is also at the top of my list. If I ever move down to PA, a PS90 SBR with a Gemtech suppressor is number one. |
Yes but isn't the length of the suppressor that extends rearward of the flashsuppressor dead weight since it does not aid in sound suppression? Or does it? I mean I would figure that the baffles are only going to be in front of it and that is the only part that is going to help suppress the sound since the gasses are moving forward. Why not move the locking ring forward more and save on weight/materials? Sorry for the thread hijack |

Yes, there are several here. |
Did they provide any info on potential release dates for the LE SCAR?
Where? All I find are in the $500.00 ballpark. |
Does the FN SCAR rifle pictured there have a polymer lower??
Pictures?? |

Yes, please tell me you took pictures of it!?!?! What's your impression of the pistol? Is it manageable? Thank you! Justin |

Tanner's Sport Center Shoot them an e-mail! BTW, I love my FNP-9. |

oh, i see what you are getting at. no, that area isn't just dead weight. it's used as an expansion chamber for the majority of the gasses that are peeled off with the first baffle, and the gasses naturally expanding out, and around, the muzzle. |

If they are going to be shooting for the next couple of days, I request pics of the SCAR in action.
More SCAR pics! I need desktop wallpaper fodder. |
I wonder if this is a sign that I should go to MO for my next vacation... |

Not so fast; the magazines used are new production FAL-styled magazines. FAL magazines are not compatible with the SCAR-H. CMMG, Any chance you could post a photo or two of the FNP-45? Thank you. Justin |
John,
What do you think of the SCAR-L? How does it feel compared to an M4? What does Gret think of it? |
Man, WTH was FN thinking when they designed the buttstock, that looks hideous.
The SCAR H is what I want, but damn. I hope somebody [cough]Magpul[/cough] improves on that a little. |
Awesome pics, thanks for posting!
The SCAR looks very sweet in action. Was that the FNP-45? How did it handle? What is the capacity? I want an FNP, but if the .45 hits the market soon, I'll wait for it. |
Man the SCAR looks huge! The Light version look all out of wack with the AR mag. It looks a bit better with the bigger FAL mag but damn, its still a very tall rifle!
Sweet!! Love that SCAR
All the fun is in Missouri. So are you going to keep the 308 beltfed, as a stable mate for that 223 rig? You know you really need a 30 caliber beltfed! |
My now revised list of things to do.
-Smoke a cigarette. -Change my pants. Wow those are some great pics. Cityslicker, if I didn't know any better I would guess that's a 45ACP. Thank you FN and CMMG! |
SCAR = cool
.308 SCAR = UBER KEWL! But the pump shotgun with mile-high sights and AR stock = fugly. Looks like something Tapco would sell. God I hope it works way better than it looks. And you just know that G.L.A.D. is gonna whine about those paintball targets. |
Sorry, just 9mms today. The .45s are tomorrow. |
