Just got back from Cabo on a family trip.  Managed to go out 2x while I was there.  First trip I chartered and only managed to land a 30lb Dorado.  The water was murky from Hurricaine Paul.   The second time out I went out on a Panga with my oldest boy and managed to land about 10-12 Rooster fish in 4 hours.  They are some tough SOBs!!

My goal in life is to retire with a 60' Sportfishing boat and fish the Sea of Cortez/Pacific.

Pic for reference (I'm 6' 193).

Beautiful fish! Charter boats are fun sometimes, but nothing compares to having your own boat.  Personally, I'd be content with something about half that size.  Maybe a 34' Yellowfin with triple 250s or something similar.  That really makes me miss the water.

Pretty common misconception....Roosterfish are actually the only species in their family or genus.

They're freaks. (fun to catch, though!)
