Can't stop eating them . The Halloween candy is laid out in a dish and the small bite size Snicker Bars are almost history.

I have fond memories of snickers bars.

My grandfather was a computer progarmmer back in the days when they filled up rooms and he would buy me a snickers when I visted him at work.

Some runner ups would include:

Chunky
Troika
Cuba

Snickers Bars are the best candy bars to have for use as energy bars when your on the go, they give a quick energy boost and keep you going until you have time for a meal.

Snickers is the best, followed by Milky Way and 3 Musketeers.

Basic Chocolate bar? Hershey's bar, the best since God-Knows-When. Heck, is been a staple of military rations since WW2.

HERSHEY’S chocolate goes to war.
With the outbreak of World War II, the Hershey Chocolate Corp. (which had provided milk chocolate bars to American doughboys in the first war) was already geared up to start producing a survival ration bar for military use. By the end of the war, more than a billion of these Ration D bars had been produced and the company had earned no less than five Army-Navy “E” Production Awards for its exceptional contributions to the war effort. In fact, the company’s machine shop even turned out parts for the Navy’s antiaircraft guns.

Another piece of Hershey's Military history was the story of 1st Lt. Gail Halvorsen of Garland, Utah; but he is forever known by German kids during the Berlin Airlift as the "Der Schokoladen-fliegen", or Chocolate Flyer.

In the early hours of June 24, 1948, the Russian Soviets halted all traffic into and out of Berlin, effectively cutting off the entire city. Almost immediately, the U.S. Air Force commenced an airlift of food supplies to trapped inhabitants. One of the pilots flying the Berlin Airlift was 1st Lt. Gail Halvorsen of Garland, Utah. Seeing a crowd of children at the end of the Templehof airport runway, Halvorsen started dropping HERSHEY’S chocolate bars for them whenever he made a run in his C-54 plane.

The delivery system was straightforward enough. He tied a handkerchief to each candy bar, which acted as a tiny parachute, and dropped them out the plane’s flare chute. Flying into Templehof, he’d wiggle his wings, so the children would know to expect their heaven-sent treats. Thanks to his candy drops, Halvorsen soon became the most widely publicized symbol of the Berlin Airlift. But the children simply called him The Chocolate Flier.

If it must be Snickers, then let it be Snickers with almonds.

Otherwise, give me dark chocolate.

BTW, Colonial Williamsburg has this chocolate bar made by the Mars Candy Company. Mars looked at how they made chocolate at Williamsburg and reversed engineered it. Their chocolate isn't something you much on. Instead, break off a piece and pop it into your mouth. Let it dissolve slowly and savor the flavor.

Milk chocolate blows. Only good stuff is dark. (At bare minimum 70%, preferably 80%+)

But Snickers is the best all-around candy bar (besides the aforementioned solid dark chocolate bars)

) a couple of years ago, doing some Christmas shopping, and I went nuts with all the 80%+ blends I found there.

Hmm. For an all-around standard candy bar, the Snickers is okay, but it's TOO much. I'd rather have a three muskateers OR a Hershey's Bar with ALMONDS! HMMM.

Reese's Cups, Almond Joys, and Kit-Kat bars are also very good "standard" candy bars that don't have TOO much stuff on them...

Of course, a Hershey's "Dark Chocolate" bar is fine all by itself w/o nuts or whatever. Something about how you just savor the taste of dark chocolate.

I love Snickers, and they're what I buy most often.

I like Zero bars better, but they're hard to find.

The one I like the best? I am going to go to Hell for this, but I have to say the "John Wayne" candy bar in the mid-80's MREs. I can't help it. I -LOVED- those MFers! Since I don't drink coffee, I was always trading for them. If they made those little buggers for retail sale, I'd weigh more than Rosie O'Donnell!

I like the King Size Snickers.... man is that ever a good candy bar.
The little teeny ones in my halloween bowl dont taste the same though.

I also like the Whatchamacallit Bars those are tasty too.
