I bought a couple of clocks with these features and the damn things arent adjusting themselves like they are supposed to.
 But it is a neat feature when they work. |

Just wait until when the rules for daylight savings time change. Then every "automatic" appliance that was programmed before the rule change will automatically change them on the wrong date. Unless of course they can get an updated version of the software to them but last time I checked most devices like clocks and VCRs aren't connected to the interent.

Put it outside, it will adjust.
Also remember that the signal is not continuous, it only comes out a few times a day IIRC. |

Ah, the things all reset themselves. Some are obviously better then others because one of them changed almost immediately. The others took hours.
The hospital bought a bunch of them to make the clocks uniform and none of them work consistantly. More money down the drain. |

Of course these same complainers have VCRs that blink 12:00 and can't format a hotlink on ARFcom to save their lives. I bought one of these and not only did it update to Standard Time on the right day, it even did it at 2am(3am) like it's supposed to do. It keeps perfect time down to the second, and the indoor/outdoor temp is nice, too.

they are usually are setup to synchronize their times at a certian hour each day. at least the ones i use are. i got sick and tired of reseting clocks when power goes out or daylight savings time, so i got a bunch of them. eta: make sure they all can get a good signal. |

Odd. My atomic Casio G-Shock hasn't adjusted itself yet. Is that because it only checks the signal at a certain time of the day?

If they're not working properly it is a sign of a crsis of near epic proportions! Quick, check their coolant fluid levels in the core before they go critical and turn your home into a new Hiroshima!!

My G shock never adjusts to DST /DST. I have to turn on or off DST feature.

I knew a guy whose atomic clock failed to adjust itself. 3 days later...DEAD!

The signal is out of Colorado, I belive. Face the clock to CO.
If I place an atomic clock on the East wall - away from CO - it can take days to update. Place it on the west wall - towrd Colorado - and it updates four times a day. Av. |

They auto update three times during the night. Casio says sit it near a window overnight when it needs an adjustment. Or you can update it yourself whenever you want. Just select the mode and stand outside for a few minutes. Mine updates all the time, no problems whatsoever. I don't think they need to update too often anyway, I doubt they lose time too often. |

My timex atomic watch doesn't self adjust for DST. I have to manually set the time zone from -4GMT(EDT) back to normal -5GMT(EST) but other than that I have nothing to worry about. The time gets synced every 12 hours, if the watch manages to pick up the signal.

Because that is easier that than adjusting the time yourself and putting it back where it should be? You're just changing the hour, not the minutes, seconds, or how ever far down the atomic clocks go. Seems to be a severe limitation in the "atomic clock that auto updates" if you have to remember when the clocks are supposed to updated and move all your clocks to a window. |
