The tragic events of yesterday clearly illustrate that we, as Americans, are targets.
We are targets because each and every one of us stands as a symbol of freedom and there are those that hate us for that. Because we will be attacked as symbols of freedom, we must be willing, ready and able to fight back with a vengence when such an attack comes.
In the weeks and months to come, there will no doubt be wrong headed cries for further disarmament of free Americans. I call on all of you to use this opportunity to point out why it is imperative we be able to fight back.
How many lives could have been saved had every passenger on those jets been ready, willing and able to fight back? They may have even saved their own lives, but at worst, would have spared hundreds or perhaps, thousands.
Already we hear small knives will no longer be allowed as carry on's. I for one wish every passenger on those jets was armed with at least a machete if not the handgun of their choice.
We must not allow this tragedy to lead to another more aggregious one. Yesterday proved we are not safe. We have clearly been shown we cannot depend on someone else to protect us from evil. We must prepare to face it ourselves, each and every one of us. Alone or together.
So when your non-gun owning aquaintences point to this tragedy and call for yet more gun control, remind them why the poor folks on those planes were targeted and why they should have been able to fight evil wherever it found them.
Condolences to those who have lost loved ones and God Bless America.
