not bad i guess. i have one with the 4" barrel. its a lil heavy i think but hey ppl carry all kinds. its a great gun |

Open carry is fine.
Concealed carry shouldn't be too hard really. Its the thickness of the gun more than the length of the barrel thats always the issue on CCW. |

I carried my gp100 4" with nothing more than a t shirt so I wouldn't see too much problem with a 6"
they are heavy though, but .357 is really trucking out of a 6" barrel I would recomend 140gr silvertips |

Waaaaaay to heavy. The six incher is a great hunting piece for small game or backup in the field. Also nice for target duty.
NOT a carry piece, and in addition to the weight the bulk of a gun that large can hurt more than it helps. S&W and Taurus make great lightweight revolvers in .357 for carry. BTW I own and love my .357 KGP100 Stainless 4 incher. |

Probably need a shoulder rig and a coat if you ever want to conceal it? Have the same revolver and will be on me for about a week strait come hunting.

I love mine, but I don’t carry it concealed in public. But there are times when I don’t really need maximum concealment. (Out for a walk at night, hike in the woods, etc.)

A 4" would be a lot better for concealed, but it could be done occassionally in lieu of more suitable weapons you don't have.
Ther's no doubt that it would be much more effective on the target than a small 9mm, small 38, 22, 25, 32, etc. |

Personally, I would have gone with the Super Redhawk in .454 Casull, but I'm just funny like that.

+1 on everyone who said "WAY TOO HEAVY" ... I took my stainless GP100 hiking on day, that was the first and last day I carried it anywhere other than the range. I love the gun but it weighs a lot.. after 10 or so miles I had to throw it in my pack, never had that problem with an automatic, I suppose if I carried it a lot I would get used to it...

Unless you're Bill Jordan big, a Ruger SP101 would be a much better choice for concealed carry.

Bad choice for concealed carry. Good for exposed carry if you don't need to draw and deply the pistol quickly in an emergency, and you can tolerate the weight and length.
The 4 inch GP-100 is a better choice. |
