Nice to see you got a watch you like at a price you liked as well. For some of us, factory warranty is important. But that's not necessary for everybody. If you're happy with it.. good for you! Personally, I like the Seamasters. I haven't bought an Omega yet, but plan to do so within the next year as finances allow.

Hey man, I hate to tell you. Thats a fake. You should send it to me for proper disposal.
Nice watch bro! |
Which brings it to about $2240. |

I do, it's been a good financial year, so I figured I'd treat myself now before the baby comes along, don't know if I'll be able to afford a new Omega in the upcoming years. And I certainly didn't drain any savings for it either. |

I do have a factory warranty on it, I just have to send it to the place I bought it from if I'm having warranty work done on it. I will say that regular maintenance work is not covered by the warranty, so I'll send it to Omega anyway when I need to have the mechanics maintained and tuned. The reason I went with the Seamaster line that had the Co-Axial Escapement was because in my research I've found that most modern mechanical movements require regular maintenance every 3-5 years in which it gets sent to the factory. But the Co-Axial Omegas are only supposed to be sent in for maintenance every 10-15 years, depending on how much wear and tear you've put on it. |

Nice Aqua Terra. I have the Railmaster version. I have seen many watch threads on here and I wish I had seen yours. I have an authorized dealer near me that I bought through, and I paid $1875 for my Railmaster. He charges close to retail if you buy in the store face to face, but if you are a referral he will take 30% off for phone orders and ship it to your home. Great guy to deal with. I wish I could have referred you to him. I'm saving my money for a Speedmaster as my next watch.

You got a great deal.
I went to WorldofWatches.com and WorldWatches.com and it was the same deal there. A lot cheaper and their own warranty. All real Omegas as well, not knockoffs. |
I don't "Get" watches yet. I've had two Wengers and I broke them both in the past 2 years so I'm rockin a Timex now. What does a $3k watch do that a $40 one doesn't do... other then look good?
Look $2960 better... In reality, its more the difference between a Ferrari and an Escort. Both will get you from A to B but you will never get laid because of an Escort. |
Good deal.
I bought a 2254.50 "used" (well, new...never worn, only tried on and unsized) from a www.timezone.com forums reputable seller for less than half price. I have to say...the AD (authorized dealer) experience is nice (the sizing, warranty, and for Omega, you can send in a copy of the AD card and get the COSC certifications from Switzerland), and needed if you get something like a Patek, but for this Omega, it's worked great buying gray market/used. I made sure mine came with all packaging and that the numbers engraved on the back were not removed (some gray market dealers do this - you have to verify first). Enjoy your Omega! I wear mine shooting, jetskiing, etc. I love cheap Gshocks and Seikos, but the Omega just fits better, keeps amazing time, and is just fun to look at (in my line of work, it's also a way to get into places you wouldn't otherwise get in many cases). Picture linked from here. |
You'll never get laid because of a watch either, unless she's planning on robbing you after. Actually, an escort just might be your best bet. Nice watch, I like Omegas. |

Are you fucking kidding me?
This has just turned into "A fool and his money..." thread. I don't even wear a watch. It takes me 2 free seconds to ask you for the time if I can't find my cell phone or a clock. However, If you are getting 2 grand or more worth of enjoyment out of flipping your wrist and telling me......Then I guess the price was well paid! |
Good post, Congrats on the watch!
Glad to hear about a reputable dealer on the net, have always had reservations on a purchse that size over the web. Great Watch!! |
Does it pass the real test tho....
will it hold up to masturbation? |
????????? I can understand getting into a weapon this much, but a watch????? What's the big deal??? |
Again, it's like a Mini14 Vs. HK93 both shoot 5.56 but one is just better... But a HK93 wont get you laid |
Neither will a stupid fucking over priced watch.... I paid $370 for a Marathon TSAR simply because it has the tritium and is depth rated down to 1000 feet. I don't need expensive crap to impress the ladies, I need somthing that not only works well, but is tough enough to survive my job (shipfitter for the Navy/DoD) and keeps perfect time. The TSAR fulfills those requirements, is probably a whole hell of allot tougher then Chimpys watch, and costs a hell of a lot less. Remember folks, its just another tool. |
There's a pear shaped 30yo female in Dana Point, CA with a gunshot wound to her hand that might screw you if you had an HK93.
I would love to get the Marathon. Great watch. |

I have the TSAR and it's the most i will ever spend on a watch. I like the Gshock and Seiko automatic Dive watches too. |

A great source for high end watches is Bernard Watch. Great folks to deal with and their prices are very good.
LOL Are you homeless? |
Yes, obviously your watch is just a tool. I have a watch that is just a tool -- it's a $15 Casio. What you (and others here) are unable to comprehend is that some folks want something that is more than just a tool, something that offers a high level of craftmanship in addition to basic function. It will blow your mind, but some people actually rather commute to work in a Mercedes instead of Ford Taurus! |
Let's look at it this way: Nancy Pelosi or Scarlett Johanssen-which would look better on your arm? they're both women. It's the same with watches.
Lots of people cannot understand why some of us will spend large amounts of money for things like high-end watches, flashlights, knives, etc, etc. Well, nothing we say is probably going to change their minds, anyway. |

What I find sad is that some of you think you have any right to tell someone else how to spend their money.
Some people collect firearms. Some people collect ex-wives. Some people collect watches. Some people do all the above... If I could I would blow $14K on a Patek Phillipp. They kick much ass. How much would you pay for a hand made firearm? Lots of people blow $5K on a custom 1911 when a Ruger will do just the same for $350. |
I kept trying to make that exact point |
I buy $15.00 dollar watches and I tell people my watch is just for looks, "doesn't keep time" when their cheap asses ask me "what time is it?" I barely want to talk to people i know let alone some dip shit who doesn't wear a watch.... |
At least some people get it! |
You know, I may not have as nice of a lawn as you do, but it's a damn good lookin watch |
Yes you do. Let's just hope you are packing when they try to take it from ya! |
