wtf are those things?

i mean, they sort of looked like clams - or a big slug

As a Washington Stater, I have to chime in, as they are from my neck of the woods.

Basically, picture a clam the size of a football, with a 1-3 foot siphon that it cannot draw fully back into it's shell.  You gotta dig DEEP to get'em or harvest under water.

Yup, geoduck is used in most commercial clam dishes from my understanding.  Good eats.  I've often wondered if that's what's usually in snapper soup, besides turkey meat.  Just a theory though.

ya we use to go get them and horse shoe clams i think they were called. anyways we use to make clam chowder out of them or saute them. very very good eating but alot of work to get.

I remember digging up long neck clams in Maine (or one of the nearby states) as a kid when we were on vacation.
