I had an idea.....

How many members are on ARF? Team and regular members?
Which state is most heavily represented? (I think it's Texas, but may be wrong)

Here's my idea....

In Texas it takes a certain number of signatures to get on a ballot, I think it's 10,000 for state legislature and if I'm not wrong 45,000 to get on for a congressional race.

How hard would it be to nominate and ARFCOMMER to run for some office and get him/her on a ballot of some sorts?
I am guessing it wouldn't be too difficult at all.

Nominate and ARF member for office and I bet we could get one in some kind of position in 2 years.

I'll start, I think SteyrAug or ElCamino would be a good choice.

In all seriousness with a little effort we could get someone on a ballot.

Not as crazy as it sounds.... do the math.

ETA: I will add a poll once we have a few nominations in here.

We can't agree on 60% of GD topics.

I doubt 2/3 of this forum would support me. And even if they did, I wouldn't want the damn job.

You do shit like that and a core group of people who don't "like you" organize to destroy your life. Within 10 days DonR would be selling stories to the press about me being a "fake SEAL."

It was hard enough to sell guns to people and we all agree that we like guns. Last thing I'd want is a job where everyone actually thinks I'm obligated to their specific political beliefs. You could never win.

And the fact that I'd spend the day ass deep with people I completely despise. I'd last 3 days before I told Kennedy he was a fat, drunk fuck of a lady killer and Pelosi that she was a batshit crazy retard.

Let's look at the state level first.....
Seriously, we could put together a little campaign, nevermind the big issues like cloning and crap like that that we all fight about.
Let's just get one of us into some kind of office, doesn't have to be congress. Maybe a state legislature or something along those lines, hell even mayor of a small town.
Some 23 yr old kid got elected mayor, surely we can get one office filled with one of our own.
We dont all have to agree on everything but wouldnt we all be agreeable to pulling this off?
(I am disqualified for way too many reasons, and the internet date stuff is really not something that looks good on the campaign trail.)

SteyrAUG seems to know an awful lot, lets put aside the cloning and evolution debates and get him or someone else on here into office, we have 2 years to hatch the plan.

SO what would my official duties be working for arfcom I mean the .gov..... Will I get free postal services... Stamps and stuff... Free airmail... Will I find out where area 51 is and if aliens really exist? So how much does this job pay again?

A guy I went to high school with served as mayor of Mercer, PA at the age of 18, named Christopher Portman.

You think it's not crazy, but look at all the division on this forum. We, the bastards, can't agree on hardly a damn thing. Its a shame that the gun community is so divided on so many issues... if we all got together, we'd be pretty powerful. I just don't see that happening.

I'll vote for any one of you, because if I'm gonna get mounted from behind and banged silly, I'd rather it be one of you guys than most of the damn politicians out there.

I got another idea...We could all apply to join the BATFE every year. After 2 or 3 years we could just generate a bunch of meaningless paperwork to look like we are working and take a handsoff approach to enforcement.
