Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Planes from US or abroad?

In one of these threads there were a few posts that the planes were foreign.  I thought they took off from US airports and were highjacked.

Anyone know for sure?  If these planes came from another country and flew into US airspace, it's an entirely different prospect than US planes.

All planes flew from within US air space.
