While dove hunting yesterday the bottom barrel of my Briley choked Weatherby  O/U blew out!
It was a factory Remington dove load and was no blooper? so it was not a wad that had gotten stuck and caused an obstruction
Choke tubes were Lt Mod/Mod the Lt Mod tube had peeled on the inside and  blew.
Luckily I wasn't hurt.

What I will do is send it back to Briley to have them cut it down to 26" and rethread it again. Maybe they will do it Por Gratis?

WOW!
Glad you weren't hurt!
Wonder what caused that much
pressure at the end of the barrel?
Wonder if it was a barrel problem?,choke problem? or ammo problem?
Kinda looks like a rifled slug went through that choke!
Don't know that much about shotguns though.
All famous brand name components too.
No "Bob's barrels", Acme chokes and etc.

I believe it was because of the thinwall chokes?
somewhere along the line the edge  of the choke must of raised up enough to start the chain reaction.

I always look down the barrels after I shoot? "if I'm not reloading in a hurry",,, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary??

Did you look for the wad afterwards? Looks to me like on of those crappy wads stuck in the choke and got hit by the next shot. I've recovered some of the wads from the those high speed Remington loads (you were using the 7/8oz ones, right?). They often seemed to be somewhat bent sideways from compression, due to the deign of the cushion.
