Why? Because I'm running out of stuff I can do to my AR! I don't ever wanna be done building it. As long as there is something more i can add/do/install I get to make a trip to the range to try it out.

Thanks, thats pretty much what I had in mind. Do you find that it makes reports any louder or kick up a lot of dust from prone position? What about its flash reduction propeties?

I'm not sure about the dust or the flash part.

As far as the sound goes, when shooting the rifle I don't notice anything different. When I'm done shooting, people standing on either side of me are giving me dirty looks though.
The muzzle brake combined with the weight of my rifle totally eliminates any muzzle rise. When shooting at a target my scope never leaves the target.

Nice rifles!
I find the muzzle blast from the brakes to be just akin to pissing on anyone else on the firing line and really not needed on a varmint barreled AR. But that's just my $.02

That is the JP enterprises muzzle brake. Machined one out to .330 and installed on FAL with heavy barrel. Total rifle weight is 17.5 lbs. with mercury recoil reducer. Recoil was definitly improved by the brake, but hearing protection is an absolute must. My eardrum is partially healed now, but I used to feel my brain push into my ear if I sneezed after using this device. Never tried one on the AR. A .308 uses 50 gr. of H380 while a .223 uses 27.5. It may be easier on the ears with less volume of gas being burned.

Take that riser and delta forces cheek rest off. It will shoot more accurately at different ranges with your scope closer to the bore centerline. You already have a high rise DPMS upper receiver. Get tall rings if you have to, but stacking that shit increases the chances for problems.

Wow Princeton, that's pretty sweet. Definetly considering the JP, but still looking.
Grimshaw, I actually haven't had any problems with the optics being that far up. I have the riser on there for my other scope thats in the shop and uses another mount. Also, whats that mercury recoil reducer you mentioned?

I haven't found it to be necessary on mine, although there is a slight muzzle rise.
