Unfortunately, as the time pass by, they looks more and more like Colt, and Colt AR15 MT (or what the hell Colt call its rifles) look less and less like Colt...

Colt?
A Colt's just  an  Armalite  copy!

An  Oly  is  more  accurate
A  Bushy  is  more reliable
A  Hesse  is  cheaper  and  about  the  same  quality.

go  tell this  BS someone  who  DOES  NOT  know  more  than  you.

What was the Colt AR15 before it was a Colt?  Hmmm, let see.  Oh yeah, it was an Armalite!

I think sopmodm and Larry G have valid points. Many a vendor (even ones that pushed Colt) told me that the BUshy would be more reliable and the OLY to be slightly more accurate. I'll personally attest to OlY's being a touch more accurate. Colt is more popular because they recieved the mil contract. (which goes to the lowest bidder most times I may add).  Just enjoy whatever you have.

My Oly lower with a JT upper out shoots every Colt I have ever handled.

Maybe some of us simple western PA guys aren't competitive shooters, but at last weekend's hi-power, a bone-stock 6530 - lightweight 16", got 508/600, placing it 6th of 43 shooters. Field included spaceguns, etc.

They're all good, especially the top units from ArmaLite, Bushmaster, Oly, etc.

Beats reading about caliber wars.

A guy is trying to sell an Armalite M15A4. flattop, 16", for $700.00. Is that a good deal?

At one time colt made a good gun, not anymore, just junk for those who just do not know any better! I own two EA ArmaLites shorties and have only praise for them, fit, function, reliability, quality. I like OLY barrels for building tack drivers, then of course BM is great too! I have plenty of colt bolt carriers , replaced em with BM, and now use the colts as paper weights, and second as self defense (club)item in a pinch.

Please give more details. Is it NIB? Any extras? If it is new, it sounds like a pretty good deal. [:D] Milldude

Milldude,
It isn't NIB, but it isn't very old, and hasn't had too many rounds through it. I checked around with some guys that are familiar with the history of the gun, and they say that the price is a good deal, but I wanted some outside advice. In fact, with the Elcan that the guy had on it, it was a "tackdriver." He's moving to a DPMS, and said that he will throw in 4-hicap mags and some Hornady TAP ammo. It has the Armalite green furniture on it.

Recently my girlfriend bought an M15A4C for me. The price paid was $849.99. I did a little research on this and found that dealer direct bulk puchase for M15A4C is approximately $730. Something is wrong with this picture. BTW suggested retail is $900.

...and remember AR means Armalite.

How many AR's has Armalite produced?  This is a serious question, not a flame...is the prouction number larger than Colt's?

Roberts, just a minor point, but; a comapny as large as Colt could afford to be the lowest bidder when they had alot of govt contracts b/c their production was high enough to enable the most affordable bid.  I doubt it had to do with the quality of their weapons that produced the attractive low price.

Sir, I am very happy that you or your wife

were fortunate enough to purchase what I con-

sider the best made AR series of rifles being

made at this time. It must have been dumb luck!

However, I must tell you that I am very unhappy

that you find something wrong with the price I

posted, $750.00.

Please post in detail how you found out that

the dealer cost is $730.00.
