I just came back from my local shop where I had intended on buying a USP .45 in stainless. I had my fiance all talked into it even. I needed to go to the shop tomorrow to pick up my SAR-2, but since I had nothing better to do, I thought I go early and see what HK's they had. Well, they tell me they're all out, which really disappointed me, since the stainless models have been discontinued.
"But," the dealer says, "there is that nice preban Colt Green Label over there. Brand new, too." Then, this guy interrupts that he'd like to see it. So, the dealer takes it off the wall and shows it to him. This guy begins to take apart the handguards, and the dealer asks him nicely not to take it apart. The customer looks at him funny, and says ok. He then breaks open the rifle and starts to remove the bolt. The dealer, getting a little perturbed again asks him not to take it apart, to which the customer replies "well, what if I want to buy it?" with an attitude. So the dealer tells him "Fine, buy the gun, then you can take it apart all day." Then, the customer started to take the bolt apart! What an ass! The dealer had to jump all over him!
So, to make this really boring story more interesting, I end up putting this brand spankin new Colt Sporter 2 on layaway. Cost me $1750, which I don't know whether is good or bad. But, I felt like I needed to support my local dealer since I've had so many guns transferred there, but never bought one. Plus, they just shelled out big bucks for a commercial on TNN. So, tell me. What is this gun really worth. The side says its a Sporter 2, has slab sides, round ribbed handgaurds, flash hider, bayo lug, 1/7 chrome lined barrel, and A2 stock. Had the original box and accessories. I know very little about ARs, so I'm sure I'm gonna need a little help here.
Thanks! And sorry about the long, mostly pointless post.
