MTV Actor Charged In Child Sex Assault Case

Margera Faces Two Felony Counts

GOLDEN, Colo. -- Actor Vincent Roy Margera, 50, was formally charged Wednesday with two felony counts of sexual assault on a child, the Jefferson County District Attorney's office announced.

Margera appeared in the Jefferson County Court with his attorney, Pamela Mackey. She was also the attorney for Kobe Bryant in his Colorado rape case.

Margera, the uncle of "Viva La Bam" star Bam Margera, was arrested on Aug. 18 by Lakewood police. He was accused of inappropriately fondling or groping 12- and 14-year-old girls during separate incidents at a signing event at Woodward Skatepark at the Colorado Mills Mall in Lakewood, Colo.

MTV.com reported that a cell-phone photo of the alleged crime had been taken into evidence in the case.

Margera had come to Colorado to film promotional material for ManiaTV.com. He plays Don Vito in "Viva La Bam." The MTV show focuses largely on Bam Margera playing practical jokes on his parents and uncle, whose dialogue is often unintelligible.

Mackey filed a motion with the court requesting that Margera be allowed to leave Colorado and return to his home in Pennsylvania, and also that he be allowed to travel for business.

A motions hearing will be held on Aug. 28, and a preliminary hearing date will be set at that time.

Ron&Fez were talking about this on XM the other day. They know him very well and the rest of that fucked up family. They told a bunch of funny old stories about him drinking himself into a coma, eating goldfish and just being a regular animal. What the hell do people expect when they let their kids around a big nasty ape? They're lucky he's not flinging his own poo.

I'm suspicious of this.  If you watch the show, he's very touchy feely guy.  I have no doubt that he might have done something inappropriate, but felonious assault at a PUBLIC event?  I think some white trash decided they want a piece of the action, and just happened to have a camera handy.

Basically his nephew (Bam Margera of Jackass fame) has a show on MTV (Viva La Bam). The show consists of Bam and his mid 20's skateboard friends doing all sorts of mindless BS. Part of the show consists of Bam picking on his parents and his uncle Don Vito. I'm not sure what Don Vito's deal is; he is messed in the head. You're really not missing much.
