My understanding...Angular deviation equal to 1" at 100 yards. i.e.: A 2 MOA rifle will shoot , on average, 2 " groups at 100 yards (all other variables being equal).

A subset of a degree (deviation of 1.7 yards at 100 yards)

Go back to high school trig.

There are 360 degrees in a circle.
There are 60 angular minutes in a degree.
There are 60 angular seconds in a angular minute.

There are 3600 inches in 100 yards.

(3600inches)*sin 1/60 of a degree (or 1 minute)
is slightly over 1 inch.  Therefore at 200 yds it is about 2 inches, 3in at 300, etc.
