I have done it with 2000 and didn't have any problems.  My school gave me a 120 day trial copy of Windows 2000 Advanced Server, part of the tuition, and last week I found a crack/mod for it that makes it unlimited time!! [:D][:D]

After you copied it did you check to see if the read attributes changed??  Or maybe there are some "hidden" files that you are missing??

The name or title of the CD has to be the same.

I am not a big fan of Microsoft and hesitate to offer advice that increases its installed base but you can use a program called CloneCD to burn just about any disk even if it has some form of copy protection on it.  You can also create an .iso file of your original disk from within Linux or Unix that can then be burned to form a bootable disk.

I've copied 98SE.You might try copying the windows to a file and then burning it from there.I have done this on a couple of CDs that wouldnt copy direct.

I have burned...errr [:\] ... I mean I heard you can successfully burn copies of 98, 98SE, 2000Pro, 2000server, 2000 advanced server, NT4, NT4 Enterprise edition, and ME ( not that ME is worth wasting a CD over ) [}:D]

Actually the more I think about it... The versions of 2000 were ISO images... What is done is a program rips an exact image of a CD and saves it to a .bin (binary) file, and creates another small file called a cue file, the combo of these files are used with a burner software called fireburner... I am not sure what is used to rip these images though...
