Now that I have had time to digest it all I've formed some opinions:
1) They were serving a search warrant for J. Beck violating Federal Fireams Laws, which in my opinion, all firearm laws are unconstitutional.
There never should have been a search warrant issued becasue some neighbor reported to the police he was stockpiling weapons.
From the reports I've read, the neighbors never socialized at his house. So how did they know this little bit of information? Were they looking through his windows? Or was he flashing them around? Either case, it should not be against the law to own as many weapons as you wish.
2) This guy had a criminal past. He couldn't cut it with a real police department and was fired after one year. He was convicted of not only impersonating a poice officer, but burglary and receiving stolen goods.
I don't think that telling people you are a deputy Marshal is a crime, as long as you don't put on a uniform and flash a badge claiming that you are, and take actions against someone as though you were.
However, this guys constant lies raised suspicions among his neighbors. He brought a hell of a lot of attention to himself.
3) Although, as I have stated, I believe that all gun laws are unconstitutional, I don't think it's such a great thing that this guy killed a LEO.
All of you that support his actions, in my opinion, should be a little pissed off at him instead for being such a dumbass and bringing us all such bad press.
I don't see where this can relate to Ruby Ridge or Waco, he wasn't being set up---as far as I know at the moment.
4) Over all, I lay blame on both sides. They should not have been a search warrant issued for fireamr violations because in my book, there is no such thing. If anything, they should have issued a search warrant for evidence of him impersonating a deputy Marshal. The firearms issue should not have even been considered.
Also, the police, ATF or whoever should not have used those flammable tear gas grenades. Then there wouldn't be a question as to who started the fire. From the way it looks, they started it.
And as I mentioned above, I blame him for being such a dumbass and bringing attention to himself and giving us bad press. Then there's the issue of him impersonating a police officer. That's just as bad as someone claiming they're a SEAL. And at the risk of insulting our LEO members here, which isn't my intention, what kind of wacko would want to impersonate a police officer unless he was doing so to commit a crime, or just a Mall Ninja wanna be? (I've met a few of those wanna be's and they scare me!)
That's my take and I'm sticking to it!
