Wow that makes 3 possible sources: AOL news is posting that they are AFGANI!  In which case since the Taliban are holding a couple Austrailians and trying them for attempting to convert Muslims to Christianity.  Given that situation, why not take 437 Muslims hostage and keep them floating on a boat until they return the Austrailians?  But why do the Austrailian government have such a hard time communicating  the obvious connection between the two situations to their public and to the world at large?

Australia argues the boat people, rescued by the Tampa five days ago from a sinking Indonesia ferry, should go back to Indonesia, the last port of embarkation.

But Indonesia has refused to take the Afghani, Pakistani and Sri Lankan asylum seekers -- and President Megawati Sukarnoputri has so far not returned Howard's calls....

Hey 1feral1!

Take a look at this crap:

U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson urged Australia to allow the ship to dock, saying the stand-off was harming Australia's tradition of helping boat people in the past.

``I make an appeal to the Australian people to look into their own hearts and to have a human rights approach and to make that known to the politicians,'' Robinson told a news conference in South Africa at the start of a U.N. conference against racism.

Owners Wallenius Wilhelmsen say the container vessel is not legally permitted to return to sea with so many people on board -- and the boat people have threatened to jump overboard if they lose sight of Christmas Island.

Australia should refuse to let them in, let one boat load and more will come, then get the gov't to pay for them

I here by make you all honourary Aussies. Your comments are what we wanna here. Fuck the bleading hearts. These dregs )so called refugees) have dictated their wants by sewing their lips closed, and using children as levers. Shame on them all. Thanks for your comments. Keep the thread alive.

Everywhere in the world where there is Mulsim vc Christain there is trouble. We don't want them here to milk us, and take advantage of us anymore!

Send em to Indonesia, thats the biggest Muslim country in the world with over 270,000,000 people on in excess of 13,000 islands! Plenty of room for em there!

Just keeping this thread alive a bit longer. Check out the news links, and see for yourself.

About a Sqn SAS boarded the freighter by rubber boat,as the big ship steamed towards Christmas Island, after the CAPT had been threatened by the Afghan refugees who were picked up in international waters off a sinking Indonesian fishing boat. The CAPT was gonna return them to Indonesia, when they rioted and took over the bridge threatening to do a mass suicide and violence if they were not taken to Australian territory. They faked illness and injury, and when SAS doctors checked on them, there was nothing wrong with them except for some mild dehydration with a few, and one small fracture.

These people are undeserving and dishonest dregs of their own society, who reckon they can dictate and demand what they want to our government, who in the past have always given in. Well not no more. PM John Howard had finally stood up to these so called assylum seekers, and is slamming the door shut. In their fucken faces! These refugees use their children as pawns, approving them to sew their lips shut so they can't be fed. I have had a gutful of these muslim finatics. We all see it on the news every day.

Need a beer sfter that!

The SAS (from Swanborne, WA)were as usual, armed with all the funky things they traditionally have. Silenced MP5s could be seen. They secured the ship, and are in control still, as I type this.

Now the whole thing is a media circus, and has turned into a political Abomb. But 98% of the Australians support the gov't, but why is it always the bleeding hearts and civil libitarians who always get on the news.

Send 'em back to Indonesia where they came from.  The Indonesian president went on record saying something asinine about how Australia is required to take these people in.  Like hell!  A nation that can't protect its borders isn't much of a nation.  There's a lesson for the US here someplace...
