Just what I was thinking. My wife loves the pictures he posts of the adult and pup together. I wonder if he has a website for them?

Ratters?

This critter adopted my fiancee and I on Memorial Day.  He came to the doorstep covered in ticks, very skinny, and extremely ill.  We had to give him an IV and hand feed him till he got better.  Now he's just a pain in my ass.  I think he's a from the BATF.  Just kidding, he's a good puppy but he's about 7 months old and 55lbs.

IMO, you cannot get a smarter/stronger/family friendly/loyal dog than a Shepard. We've had 3 and all have been outstanding dogs. We got all of ours at the pound and I encourage others to do the same. Save an animal and add a family member, they'll love you for it.

He just has one blue eye...nothing wrong with him.  The red you see in the picture is from the camera flash.  He does have a great personality too.

Yeah...I never thought about that.  What kind of dog was that?  Does anyone have any ideas as to what mine is?  I've seen two different color eyes in huskies, but he does not look like a husky.  In these pictures he was about 4 months old...now he is almost about 7 months.  Only other clue I have is that he has webbed feet.

I actually think he's a pretty cool looking dog. He's even got that "movie dog" look. You know, that will steal the heart of a child kinda thing.

I don't dare let my wife see that face. She is already after me to get a puppy...

Sorry to be late, was off camping with the dogs. [;)] Puppy got stung in the mouth by a wasp and her head swelled up like a basketball, so we decided to cut the trip short.  Here she is when she was about two months:

My sister has a white German Sheperd she rescued.  If I get a picture I will post it, very cool looking.  I love German Sheperds, especially after watching the War Dog documentary.

Danman....This is my husky/shepard, Sheba, she passed away June '00 at 13yrs old. Miss her enormously!

M16man....I was watching "Animal Precinct" on the discovery channel a few nights ago. The ASPCA had a complaint of animal abuse/neglect. Upon arrival they found this GSD covered with thousands of ticks and fleas, he had no food, water, shelter being kept in a back yard of some savages house. They took him to the Vet who said the dog was so exhausted from the lack of blood from the ticks sucking on him and him trying to pull them off. She said if left in the yard another 12 hrs and it would have been dead.

Anyway, I called the ASPCA today, they still have the dog. They found and removed a growth from the stomach. If the results come back okay, she will be put up for adoption and I have first dibbs on her, I will snatch her up real quick. [:)]

Well, mine's getting a bit bigger...this is the shoe he was about as big as when I first got him.  (Size 12EE shoe, btw):

Bullitt has decided to start eating like a horse now as well.

Met a neighboor with two big dogs..found out the large white one is a purebreed American Bulldog [:O] and the littler one is a shepard mix.  (there, see? on topic [:)])

Yeah, mine is doing the same thing.  What's worse than that is I think he poops twice as much as he eats!!  Good thing he's house trained.

I love German Sheperds but hate the fact that so many people have bred out of them what they once were and what they were intended to do. My mother raised German Sheperds and Dobermans so many years ago that Dobermans were still an oddity in this country and seldom seen. Neither breed is the same as they once were.

Below is a photo of our pure bred Gray Timber Wolf, appropriately named Wolfe, when she was a little over a year old, shortly after our house burned, as seen in the back ground.
That's Hyde, my male Chow in the fore ground. All 100+ pounds of him.
