I am planning on purchasing  one of these scopes to use on a flat top AR15 and a Carbon 15.  any recommendations or advice?

I only own the Holosight but can say I love it.  It is my favorite sighting device between scope, iron.  The original Holosight is adaptable to NVG.  Planerench out.
