How do you load the 30 rd mags for your AR, stripper clips and guide? By hand? Some fancy mag loader device?

Canadian thermold strippers and guides.  You can use USGI strippers with the thermold guides or load rounds indiviually.

Bought 50 stripper clips and got 20 more with used magazine purchases.  Also have about 10 guides.  I sit and load up all of them at once while reading long, well reasoned posts on this message board, and then load em in mags at range on shooting day.  Have 9 30 round mags, 2 20 round mags, and 1 10 rounder.  I have plenty of fire time on range day.

Would hate to be the guys near me when I shoot because my AR has the dreaded (but loved by me) Mini-Y compensator.

Hours of non-stop shooting fun (unless someone wants a "firing line-COLD"

By hand, tried stripper clips but always go back to hand loading.

By hand, usually just 5 or 10 rounds at a time. Otherwise, in one range session, I would shoot about 500 rounds. As it is I shoot 200+ rounds a trip.BP

Beta C-mag loader.  There is NO substitue.   Can load a 30 rounder in 5 seconds.

Was going to show a link from Ruben's site but it looks like it tanked.  www.nfadealer.com

By hand, but have thought about going to stripper clips to save wear and tear on my thunbs. How much easier are the stripper clips?

You won't really save any wear and tear on your thumb because you have to load each stripper clip.  I usually spend an hour and load about 600 rounds on strippers (watching tv)  All my .223 is now on stripper clips.

Like I said in the earlier post.  About 5-15 seconds to load 30 rounds in a magazine.

Sometimes stripper clips, other times by hand. After all, manually loading of mags is actually half the fun.

Strippers 'n "spoons" are ok for full mags. I just load 8 rds max in highpower so I do it by hand. All my "fun" FMJ blastin' ammo is loaded in bandoliers GI-style on strippers with a "spoon" on each bandolier. Get 'em cheap from Chuck Rupe.

I have my children do it for me.  They are getting a bit older now, but will still sit in from of the television and spend "quality time" with the old man loading stripper clips and magazines.

Like most of yez, when I bring home a new case of ammo, I sit and stripper clip it while watching tv. I've got stripper clip guides in all my shooting bags and in all my pouches.

Definite hand job.

Grab a few, load them in.

I use the "C-Mag Speed Loader" made by Beta C.  Put the bullets in a stripper clip.  Insert the loader on the magazine, insert the stipper clip into the loader and press the plunger.  10 rounds loaded.

It works well.
