what I realy need is an opinion on 3D video cards of these two which one should I get It will primarily be used for watching VCD's and game playing. one is an 16MB ram with 128 bit the other is 32mb Ram but only has 64 bit so which one should it be

Both are really old technology.  Is this for an older system?  Go for a tnt2ultra if that is the case.  Banshee is way behind the times and few games are still made with opengl being a real benefit.

Sounds like time to upgrade to a new system with a Geforce 3. [;)]

I have an old p3 500 with the tntultra.  Works ok but can't play some of the new games I would like to.

Its a Pentium II 400Mhz 64Mb Ram but no video card I want to play some games but most require the Card so I found some for like 20 bucks

and since Im getting a new system next year I dont want to buy a GeForce plus im not sur Geforce makes a PCI card.  NO AGP slots in my system.

Then get the tnt2 ultra.  It will tide you over. [:)]

They compare prices for you online, all you do is pick what kind of card you need.  I would go Voodoo3, cause it is faster than TNT2. For a 400mhz system, I would go 64mbs of RAM, so search around.

Yeah me too but since im getting a new system this is just ot tide me over and I havnt found a 64mbs RAM card for a PCI.

better yet hold out and buy the biggest meanest fastest SOB video card u can afford u will need it later on trust me

in the spring I will purchases a P.C. that is at least the following

1.2 gig pro.
256 ram
64 GEforce or better video card
plus all the other great crap.

but untill then I need something to tied me over.

Be careful with pricewatch. It searches only on the basis of price, and a lot of the lowest price dealers will screw you on shipping and extra charges, or just simply screw you. Pricewatch is best used to see how much something should go for, then go to a reputable site(my own favorite: www.mwave.com) to buy it.

New computer next year? I agree with cyrax. Save the money and get the meanest graphics card then. You'll be happier in the long run.

If you are stuck using a PCI card, go with the TNT2 because of RAMDAC:300 MHz, 250 isn't that great and will probably be more choppy

Yeah check Pricewatch. I just bought a Geforce 2 Pro 64meg with TV in/out for 120.00 bucks a month ago. With the Geforce 3's coming out, the prices of the older G2's are dropping like 10-20 bucks a month.

For games and especially video, you'll want to get a more recent video card with a lot of memory and a fast RAMdac. The next generation of video games will require these newer generations or they will basically be unplayable.

Get yourself a PCI Geforce 2 MX if you don't have an AGP slot. If you do have AGP, then get the AGP GF2 MX!

I agree with the posts on getting a GeForce 2 card...make sure it has an onboard 350mhz processor and 64mb of RAM.  Other than that, get the cheapest GeForce model you can find.  Pricewatch is great for that too...but sometimes I see sales at BestBuy cheaper (usually has to do with a mail-in rebate).
