Of the three, which do you consider to be the best right now?

Any quality 1911

Sig 220

Springfield XD45

I own 2 1911's and a 220.

I love them all.  Different guns for different times and functions.

But if I had to keep only one it would be the full size 1911.  Grips and points the best.  Also most accurate of the three.

.45 Automatic Colt Pistol. Now WTF do you think that stands for? Sheesh.
Glock has their GAP round, Gay Anus Pistol

everyone knows its the 1911 with about 900 modifications and just a little tuning

a 1911....duh!

I'd vote 1911 for the classic's sake.  If it WASN'T a GREAT pistol, it wouldn't be copied by just about EVERY gun manufacturer, and it wouldn't be tricked out ten ways to sunday.  It would have faded into memory.

Being said, though, my next .45 will likely be a CZ97B.

A quality 1911.

I still have to get my XD 45ACP out of layaway.

I like Sigs and Glocks but both are a bit too big for my hands.

The "best" is just a matter of personal opinion.

I have 4 different .45s.  I trust each one equally.

Kimber=great
Sig p-220 =outstanding
Both great firearms I just like the P220 better.
I Shoot the P-220 a little better also.

For the money, a CPO SIG P220, hands down.

My preference is for the Sig P220. I own 1911's and don't have anything against them. But I like non-single action pistols better. In a carry gun, I like to keep things simple. Pull, point and shoot. I don't like adding extra movements that could be fouled up in the stress of a violent confrontation, such as flicking off the safety. The Sig gives me that.

I prefer the USP Tactical though the Springfield TRP Operator was the most accurate pistol I have ever shot.

It's a tossup between the 220 and a good 1911.

The more I shoot my TRP, the less I want to shoot my other handguns.

HK USP...no doubt about it.  Now if you got the bucks, the Mark 23 is even better.

I voted sig.  it does all the 1911 does, does it more reliably and more durably right out of the box

Glock 21, is the only .45 cal I have shot.
