I like his introspective stuff.  This album is pure shit for sure.

He should stick to Lionel trains and making cripple children......

I generally don't care for his music, especially due to his whiny singing.  I will, however, say that "The Needle and the Damage Done" is a great song.

I want to go back in time and knock out the gut who told him he could sing...before he told him he could sing.

Nasal and a quarter-tone sharp on EVERYTHING.  If an oboe could sing, this would be it.

How old are you and what kind of music do you listen to that you don't even KNOW his name? I am curious.

He’s this really old geezer hippy who used to try and write “socially relevant” songs. Now he’s escaped from whatever nursing home he’s been trapped in with the goal of recording a new socially relevant record album…

Too bad for him that no one has record players anymore…

He is pretty much irrelevant in today's music.  In his haydays, he used to sing in a group called Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, and later Neil Young and Crazy Horse, very popular rock group in the late 1960 thru the early 1980s.

I remember seeing him do a live performance of Keep on Rockin' in the Free World on SNL, I think it was...he was so fucking ludicrous.  He and his band were trying to dance onstage and he accidentally kicked one of his guitar players in the ass.

I have not done any in-depth research, but I think Neil has been all over the map on the war. I think he supported it at first. I also read that he was a Reagan supporter.

I think the problem with Mr. Young and many others is that they fail to see that we are in a war for our survival against radical islam. Sure, on the surface, one might say "who cares about Iraq", but with the big picture in mind, we can see that Iraq is but one theater in a global war.

If I bothered to look into the political leanings of every musician or band that graced my speakers, I'd have to toss my entire record collection.

Down By The River is still a cool song.

+1. I'm 26, and I have an LP collection that would make alot of older guys jealous. Some of you guys got to grow up listening to some REALLY good stuff. Lucky bastards.

Yep.

"Saturday Night Special" did a great job at giving the anti's in Washington a new catch phrase.

Two feets they come a creepin’
Like a black cat do
And two bodies are lyin’ naked
Creeper think he got nothin’ to lose
So he creeps into this house, yeah
And unlocks the door
And while a man reaching for his trousers
Shoots him full of .38 holes

(chorus)
Its a saturday night special
Got a barrel that’s blue and cold
Ain’t no good for nothin’
But put a man six feet in a hole

Big jim’s been drinkin’ whiskey
And playing poker on a losin’ night
Pretty soon, big jim starts a thinkin’
Somebody been cheatin’ and lyin’
So big jim commences to fightin’
I wouldn’t tell you no lie
And big jim done grab his pistol
Shot his friend right between the eyes

(chorus)

Hand guns are made for killin’
Ain’t no good for nothin’ else
And if you like your whiskey
You might even shoot yourself
So why don’t we dump ’em people
To the bottom of the sea
Before some fool come around here
Wanna shoot either you or me

I hate Skynyrd.

Neil Young Lyrics..
I called Crosby and I called up Nash
Just to see if they would sell me some hash
I called my buddy Stephen Stills
I said hey man can you give me some pills
