For those who haven't read it, Doolittle's Autobiography is good read.

As is Ted Lawson's book 30 Seconds Over Tokyo.

Read the book then see if you can find a copy of the movie. The black and white original is preferred to Turners bastardized color version.

Those goblets are incredible.  What a great way to commemorate those heroes.

I read about the Dolittle raid in James Bradley's book Flyboys.  Dolittle was an amazing man.

I don't think you understand The Army concept.
At one time, it was The US Army Tank Corps.  Not it's just "Armor".
They were The Army's aviation branch, and they brought honor to the entire Army.

I know. However, IIRC, the the Air Corps, though still Army, was cosidered an elite, similair to the Airborne and Ranger units.

What had to be going through Doolittle's mind as he was looking at the short run of wood in front of him.

Nice, Pics.  My father served on the Hornet during the war.  Doesn't talk too much about it but I think that he'll get a kick outta these.

Thanks!!

I went to Gen. Doolittle's burial at Arlington in the early 1990s.  The flyover was awesome, pretty much every plane the AF flies flew over followed by a B-25 (which is tiny compared to modern planes).
