It's a fullsize Tactical, as seen here:

It's either:

A. Standard Alumagrips Black anodized

or

B. VZ Gatorback Blasted Black Canvas Micarta Grips

Any experiences with either? Good/ Bad? Hell, which one do you  think looks better?

I cracked the origianl wood grips (My fault) and want to replace them with something other than wood or rubber/plastic. These are the final two.

I have always liked the Barnhart Burner grips.

But out of your two choices, I'd go with Alumagrips.  All metal gun, baby.

Of the two, I like the Micarta ones better. You live in the Deep South; I can imagine the aluminum ones getting pretty warm after being in the Sun for too long.

I like the stock grips better also.

I've always liked the alumagrips. They look real slick (in the good way - look nice, good texture for grip security). Had a pair with a Strider logo on my SA, and my Les Baer TRS wears a thin pair with the Thunder Ranch logo.

I have the Wilson Combat ultra-thin CCW grips on my Kimber and love em.  They feel just right in my hand.

Stock grips are cracked, badly, and (SURPRISE ) Kimber is out of stock.

Alumagrips.  Would give a good contrast to the slide.

Personally, my Stainless II has Esmeralda grips on it.

No experience with either brand. I put Chip McCormick Thin grips on mine and like the way it hides the profile when I CCW it. I would go with micarta over aluminum though. Al , Fe plus sweat equals corrorsion in the humidity of the south. Yes stainless rusts just not as fast as blued steel.

Larry Davidson's Warthogs, or VZ Gatorbacks. You can't beat micarta.......

I haven't handled a gun with micarta grips, but I have a handled a knife.  They feel pretty comfortable to me, so I will go with the micarta grips.

Okay, anyone who puts this abomination on a 1911 needs to be pistol whipped with it.

VZ's are nice.

You should also check out Wicked Grips.

Wicked's grips were awesome, but I refuse to pay a THIRD of what the pistol cost for the damn grips...but his stuff is Cool!

Went with the VZ's.

I have the exact same VZ grips on my Kimber right now and LOVE them! I've tried many a grip on various 1911s and these are the only ones that I've REALLY liked. They are awesome!
