A couple of buddies and I headed over the border and hit Moab for some hiking and camping.
Here's where we set up camp

a desert sun set

and one of my buds after a little Patron

The following day we headed up to Dead Horse Canyon, about 40 miles from Moab.  We went trhough almost 7 gallons of water between 3 guys and a dog.  Holy shit it was hot!

The West is the best!

yeah, there was the 2006 Jeep Jamboree (or something to that extent) this week.  Tons of sick vehicles like this one

I was watching some of these rock crawlers-- insanity to say the least

So, are you allowed to shoot from there?

It would be awesome to shoot into the canyon.

Awesome pics - looks like a great time.
I have been meaning to get out that way for a few years now.
Hoping to do some camping out in Moab toward the end of the year.
If those pictures represent what I can look forward to, the trip is going to have to take priority - that looks amazing!

Thanks for posting - this might just motivate my ass to go get some plane tickets!

Nice pics VT!

BTW, I figured he meant Moab, UT. But then I live between him and Moab too, about 2 hrs or so from Moab.

I see you must not have spent much time in town. There's no pics of the scenery in town. I could kiss the man that invented Spandex.

Too bad it's a Ford. Even a Ford can make Moab look ugly.   J/K

I'm jealous. What a beautiful place.

Man I love Moab.

Hike the delicate arch then back to Eddie McStiffs for beer, nachos, and some pool!

Here are some pics I took of the Fiery furnace hike we took.  The first pic was one on my wifes favorites....don't know why...it's just a stupid rock!

Rolled thru Utah back in '94 and visited many of the parks in the southern region
Love to go back someday

I live in moab.... 2006 jeep safari just ended today after a week of  crazyness. other than the oficial trails the main attraction is potato salad hill.... a 50 foot climb that at first look seems easy... but get it coverd in sand and a few beers later it gets interesting , and on sat there was an 'extream rock race' or something like that, it was a good show. next year should be even better! here is a link to a couple of pics on my web shots.rock race & potato salad hill
