I know that the guys from GG&G ran about 5k through their post sample M1919s with no issues. however my FAL got gas cutting on the bolt from a primer letting loose on some that was purchased the same day from the same dealer. hit and miss

I have shot it in my FAL. But it jams a lot. My FAL jams with no other ammo.
I also shake each bullet I plan on shooting to ensure it has about the correct amount of powder, and I line them all up to make sure they are seated evenly. I only have about 200 rounds left. I will never buy it again. |

Some works rather well if it is in the 5 round packs, I have cans of it and all has done just fine.

yeah it mostly ran fine, till I had a primer or two blow and jack up my bolt face. the GG&G guys had no problems with the 1919s but you could definitely tell how inconsistent the rounds were by the reports |

No chit!  Glad you did not get the Evil eye, I know what you are saying about inconsistent but I never use it but for blasting anyway.I load all of my own for matches and other activities so I know what it will do and will not do. |

I had 4k of of the OFV86 stuff, its kinda temp sensitive, in cold temps(under 50deg) it shoots sub 2" 5 shot groups through my AR10, in temps above 80 best it'll do is about 3 1/2" for a 5 shot group, I don't shoot it when temps get around 100, it'll blow primers pretty regular, got about 400 rnds left.

i bought a ammo can of it.. worst ammo EVER... my fals didnt like it, my g3 clone didnt like it, it jammed, it misfired, it was inconsistant.

I found it appropriate for use in weapons that someone else was going to have to clean. My only problem with it (though I quit buying it based on warnings posted here) was that it was filthy. After a few dozen rounds, my L1A1 looked I had been firing soot-covered cat turds out of it. Yuck!

some of the problem i have seen with it.....
brass so out of spec it would not chamber split cases on new unfired rounds split case necks on new unfired rounds bullets with no crimp primer pockets with no flash holes Bullets that were a copper jacket only with NO lead core. shoot at your own risk |

Some lots are very nasty and did smell like the manure pit had broken its dike; one lot I have found even had the aroma of flowers. I was like WTF is in this ammo.  Funny thing is out of all the lots they shoot fine in the Bushmaster and never had a problem, but yet no one in any situtation should fire this ammo in a M1A. |

It has blown up a few 1919's over on the 1919a4.com forum because the brass is so inconsistent in the way it's sized. If you don't get the head-space perfectly adjusted on a 1919, it can blow the gun up. Since the brass is so inconsistently sized, it will reek havoc with a 1919 head-spacing.
If you want a good deal on .308, pick up some of the South African .308. It's high quality stuff and gets high praise on most of the message boards. I just ordered some last week from AimSurplus for $154 per 980 round case. They also sell it in 140 round battle-packs if you want less. I wouldn't wait. It's starting to dry up at a few of the ammo distributors. |

Lot #42 of XM193 was a hit or miss lot of ammo as well, some had luck and others like me had more blown primers than a Nevada cat house. I would be leary of any of the lot 42 myself. |

I picked some Indian up at a local funstore to try it out.
I don't know what lot ,but it was on 5 round strippers,I think headstamped somewhere in the 80s. Out of the 60 rounds I got ,5 did not fire with deeply dented primers. A third of them looked like the brass was made by cavemen with clubs . They looked OK in the strippers . Needless to say ,I passed on the dirt cheap cases ! 2nd to worst 7.62 X 51 mm surplus I ever used. Worst of all time was Argentine . Headstamped 13FLB81 . I can barely even read the headstamp. It looks like the headstamped was chizzled in with a rock ! Never again .

The Aussie F4 .308 is the best I've ever fired. It'll shoot 1.5 inch groups out of my HK91. I picked up about 2500 rounds right before it dried up last year. It's so accurate, I won't waste shooting it in my 1919. It's almost like match ammo. |
