More important is why did the electric company keep the electric on after 3 years of not paying bills?
If she was in some cities in the states... they would have broken down the door within 24 hours of not paying the bill.
Bet me to it. But, yeah, what kind of TV? |
this is the second time I heard of something like this. The other one died in her bedroom and the family went on living around like nothing happened. Also in England if my memory is correct
and her sisters never tried to contact her that whole time...
Probably had automatic payments set up and I suppose she had enough money in the bank to cover it. Hell if she had proper investments that brought in more than enough money into her bank account and had automatic payments set up it could in theory go on indefinately if no one found out she was dead. Or imagine some elderly person getting social security direct deposited, with automatic payments, she dies, no one ever finds out goverment keeps paying out money and companies keep taking it. I wonder how many times that happens, your tax dollars at work. |
She probably had a big bank balance and automatic bill pay on the utilities.
Two questions or observations, why did the neighbors not say anything about the smell? And they probably would not come to turn off the power due to the fact that it was a domestic violence placement into the apartment.
I've got to find out what brand of TV that was, mine is going out...... |
That was in England?
Holy Shit!!! Who's gonna pay that TV tax? |
You know, this might be a modern Egyptian burial concept.
these days you can place some smart, long-term investments, link the payment of your rent and power to the account, and spend eternity in your apartment, surrounded by your weapons, TV blaring. If the investments grow fast enough to cover the rent and power bill you'd be set for all eternity. |
"Hey, you talk to Sis lately?" "Nope. I hate to bother her when she's watching TV." |
And nobody smelled her stinkifying the friggin' building?
Shit, we had a dead possum in a tree 12 feet up that died and the stink required its immediate removal. How does the rotting corpse of a 40 year old woman go un-noticed? |
After a time, there is no smell. |
Mabye she also had some of those automatic scent sprayers that covered up the scent.
Yeah...true...but for a LOOOOONG time there IS a smell....and it would buckle your knees it's so bad. How exactly does that go ignored? |
Maybe a pension that was directly deposited and utilities that were auto-paid? But it sounds like she was 3 years behind on her rent? How the heck do you get that far behind without being evicted? |
One of my friends is a coroner's investigator. He has a carbon filter respirator I gave him. Says it comes in handy with some of the DB's he's investigated.
Socialism. Ms Vincent had apparently been a placed in the women's refuge accommodation as a victim of domestic violence. |
*nods* Yup. |

I bet it was a Zieneth....the american made ones rock....a floor model of course.... |

You've never been briefed on Britains social system have you?.......it's very possible!!! |
No wonder, England -> socialist utopia where everything is paid for.

Electronic devices have the greatest likelihood to fail when they are turned on, because of the sudden surge of electricity. They have a lightbulb that has been on over 100 years in some firehouse in the Northeast - they never turned it off (they used a rheostat to gradually dim it or light it). The same is probably true with TV's.
If she did have dogs... a) they would start barking @ the dead corpse and somebody would call in a noise complaint, ect. b) the dogs would get hungry and eat the corpse...chew up all the bones...so when someone would go into the apt. it'd be empty, as if she moved out and left her stuff behind. c) after 3 years the dogs would be dead too...old woman nowhere to be found(obviously). Local PD puts a warrant out on the lady for animal abuse... kind of spooky.... |
You might be on to something. |
I would expect any tv to be able to run for that long unless perhaps it was some walmart special. |
I just had picture flash through my mind of an arfcommer rotting away in a computer chair somewhere...
It is in the UK, they are used to stinky shit |

Of the heart attack suffered right after Sgt was banned, or caused by high blood pressure after the site was down for maintenance for 3 days... |

There was a crusty old guy in Germany who went about the same way.
They found him in his La-Z-Boy with the TV Guide open, presumably on the day he died. 5 years. He was apparently rude to the neghbors all the time, so they were just as happy to NOT have to deal with him and his kids didn't care for him. His factory job had given his account a big enough balance that it paid his rent and utilities for those five years. |
Or social security type payments that automatically went into her account and bills that automatically were deducted from her account. I can't believe nobody smelled anything..... |
Regardless of whether or not you have a heartbeat...... We may have problems with illegals, but at least we aren't paying dead people welfare. Yet. |
I had a DB call some years back. He had been dead for a couple of days. His trusty Cocker Spaniel had began chewing on his face by the time we found him. |
You've never lived in Chicago, have you? Dead people collect welfare, City Hall paychecks, and even VOTE! TWICE! |
I want to know what shitty british TV show killed her... |
Wonder how her TV and poll taxes were getting paid.
The TV tax I could see being automatic but the poll tax would require a signature and have to be sent back in. |
Thatd be funny if it wasnt so damn true! |
