Terminator 4 is go - with or without Arnie
I probably won't be back

The producer of Terminator 4 - slated to begin production in Australia next year - has said the project will certainly go ahead, whether Arnold Schwarzenegger can make a cameo appearance or not.

According to UK tabloid the Mirror, Andy Vajna said: "We would like Arnie as a cameo. We want to go on with the Terminator and turn it into a real sci-fi picture - there is a very interesting role for Arnold if he wants it. But I'm not sure where he is with his politics - we'll see."

Quite how the Terminator franchise's latest outing will succeed without Arnie remains to be seen. Writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris have already knocked together a screenplay for the fourth outing and Vajna confirmed: "We have the script ready and we are now looking for a director and figuring out what the next step is."

After the last movie, that's really the only place they have left to go.

NO... let the franchise die with what little dignity it has left!

Once James Cameron took a pass on writing/directing anymore sequels, it was game over man!

For me, the story ended with T2

I don't know, T3 didn't suck. It wasn't great, but it didn't suck.

I agree. The only real redeeming factor of T3 was Kristanna Loken.

I liked Terminator 3.  I thought the whole "the war is unstoppable" thing was pretty good instead of the usual happy but shitty endings that most movies have.

Give that this movie is one big causality paradox there is no choice but to have the future war moive;it must come full circle.

Terminator - Arnold = the suck.

Terminator 3 had potential and it's clear the producers/director tried to make a good movie, but IMO they failed to a large degree. Too much of the action was cookie-cutter Terminator stuff that we've all seen before and some things were even outright pathetic (such as Dr. Silberman's cameo).

Not sure I'll be looking forward to T4.

Damn.  I'll probably watch it anyway, even though T3 sucked (yes, even with Kristanna Loken, of Mortal Kombat Conquest fame).

"...said the project will certainly go ahead, whether Arnold Schwarzenegger can make a cameo appearance or not."

I guess this time he won't be back after all.

T3 sucked on so many levels.

They completely threw out the "philosophy" the core view of the earlier movies "the future is what you make of it" and blew it on a zillion levels in terms of the "story" and following the "rules" of the terminator world.

James Cameron on one of the direcotor's commentaries for T2 made it a point that they did everything they could to avoid deos ex machina issues with T1 and T2.   Yet T3 uses them almost to the point of absurdity.

Like the Matrix sequels, I've seen T3 once, and will never watch it again.

Hes not really needed. This new movie has to focus on the war against the machines. It will be about John Connor and the human resistance.

Been waiting for this one since the original Terminator and Reece's "Flash Forwards"

Maybe in T4 we will find out that the terminators looks were based on a former California governor.

So John Connor gets bunkered up with Claire Danes for a few years? How is that a problem?
