Can't stand rednecks for the most part. Of course my definition of a redneck might be different than that of yours. I'll just keep my opinion to myself I guess. Time to shut up I think.

My parents call me their "redneck" son... Yes, I enjoy many typical "redneck" things.
However, I find rednecks to be some of the most useful people, they are hardworking, helpful, resourceful, andin a blue collar way, intelligent. There are the "Larry the Cable Guy" types, but for the most part, rednecks are fun and fairly normal people. We just like loud lifted trucks, boats, cars, girls, guns, and beer. I see nothing wrong with any of this. |

No. Hillbilly, -Comes from very rural areas, introverted typically, limited education, very "rural/old fashioned" attire. White Trash, -Does not apply to all Rednecks, although Rednecks can be WT. WT are people who: beat their family, typically alcoholics, meth heads, no respect for other peoples property, no respect for knowledge, and usually no work ethic. Also, usually long term welfare types. Redneck, -Usually rural/small town in background, blue collar type occupation, content at being a simple working man/family man in the US of A, has hobbies like Guns, Hot rods, Trucks, Boating, Hunting, Fishing, etc. Like to show off and have fun. Having a lifted 35" tired 79 Ford with orange/black tiger stripes (example of a friend) with a Public Address system is very redneck. He also likes wheeling with it, burnouts in the truck or his mustang, is a very hard working, trustworthy, and reliable young man. |

O.K. I'll be a redneck. I really do have a shotgun, a rifle and a 4 wheeldrive. I can skin a buck and I have actually ran a trot line. I don't smoke and I've never made my own whiskey but I have grown tomatoes and I've made wine. |

I have many of the qualities that could possibly possibly define me as a redneck, flannels, 4x4's. guns, live in the sticks, more cars than drivers, dogs, and a wife from OH near the WV border.
But since I also have decent dental hygiene, a certain grasp of the English language, and am pretty sure that my parents are not related to each other, I am, most decidedly, not a redneck. And I don't drink beer on a regular basis...maybe like 1-2 a month. That alone gives me a pass. |

come end of June, take off your shirt. If your neck and forearms are red and the rest is white, there is a good chance you are a redneck. It's working class slang that was adoted into our language....like Barts Simpsin's gift; "craptacular".
If you spend time out doors, be it labor or liesure there's agood chance you have a little redneck in you. Of course, this doesn't count if you vacation at martha's vineyard and have a nice even tan from sunning on the deck of Kerry's boat. Like anything, there are varied degrees of redneck, white trash and hillbilly. These terms generally conote southerners, but that isn't always the case. Anyone that has travled to upstate New York knows that it is populated by many rednecks. I like fishing, boating, guns, booze and true southern women. I have a bugout bag. Im selling my Buell because I was happier on a BMW. I have a Bachelors and I'm self employed. I am a Redneck. |

If you meet enough of the other criteria. I like racing in general, but prefer to watch supercross and rally to other forms. ETA: Independance /self reliance are a couple of key indicators. If you don't need/want .gov to do everything for you and/or take pride in providing for yourself off the land...you have redneck in ya, whether you want to admit it or not. |
