every time you change a document the changes get saved to a hidden area in the file.

How do you remove this stuff?

I've never dealt first-hand with it... my first instinct would be to copy and paste the text into a new document, then delete the old one.

Create a new doc, cut and paste everything from the old doc into the new doc?

Word Perfect allows you to view and change any of the codes hidden in a document.  One of the reasons I will use it over turd any day.

I can't stand using turd, but nowdays it is the accepted standard.  A pox on Bill Gates.
