Caught it Thursday. First fish on a new reel. 18", full of eggs.

Think I am going to buy a fly rod and reel this year. And mine an ounce of gold. Make the most of where I live.
Usually we we just scoop salmon up, not hook them. I'd be going after trout/char fish with the rod. |

Not hard to do up there. I was able to pay for my entire Alaska trip with my grandfather with a couple of days of mining in Nome. |
