Can anyone recommend a very nice restaurant for my wife and I to eat at? I am a red meat guy, she likes chicken, ribs, etc.
We will be staying at Bellagio, but we can go anywhere. |

No trip to Vegas is complete without a trip to the In and Out burger joint, without a doubt they are the very best burgers on the face of the planet
Oh, I forgot to mention up in Indian Springs there is this little pizza joint that has some superb pizza (beer is rather cold as well) after eating nothing but MRE's for 2 weeks

I had a fabulous meal at the top of the Stratosphere. The entire room rotates to give you a great view. Go after sundown for the best effect.
The whole meal with drinks cost about 185.00 with tip. |

circus circus is a shit hole. i didnt like it top of the strat is cool. |
Yes it is. But the Steakhouse is a whole other ball o'wax. It beats out Mortons and Ruth's Chris by a country mile. ETA: And I am a picky, picky foodie. |
I would vote for Morton's. I had an incredible dinner there expensive...but incredible!
I know you didn't ask for Asian food.....but this place is great!! You might consider it as another place to visit. There is also a great japanese restaurant on the first floor at the MGM. They had Kobe steaks which are supposed to be delish. I didn't try it since I think it was priced at $56. But the sushi I had was great. Sorry I don't recall the name.
The Little Buddha is at the Palms. Little Buddha |

Sitting here in my In-n-Out Burger T-shirt. It is the shizzle!! I go to a convention in LV every May for the last 8 years. I been to most of the better eateries. I would recommend Prime Steakhouse if you wanna stay in the Bellagio. There is a Four Seasons hotel attached to Mandalay Bay that has a Charlie Palmers Steakhouse that is great. We were there 2 years ago after the Academy of Country Music Awards and saw some familiar faces. Toby Kieth, Ronny Brooks, Dick Clark....pretty cool. The Venetian has Delmonico's, owned by Emeril [BAAAM!!] This year I have reservations at SteakCraft in the MGM, only because the ACM Awards are at the MGM this year....the convention is the same week as the awards show so we try to eat nearby and try to stalk some Music Celebrities. All of these places will set you back around $150-$200 for two, with a reasonable bottle of wine. Top class joints though. Dress nicely, maybe a sportcoat. jj ETA The road in between Mandalay and NY/NY, go over the interstate overpass, the I-n-Out is right there on the right......you won't regret it. |

I like the brewery in Monte Carlo. I will be staying there this thursday.
Right across the street at Paris, Les Artists steak house. Very good.
Hey ! Go to Prime at where you are staying or go over to Wynn and try the SW steakhouse. You can't go wrong.
There are two nice steak places in the Fashion Mall across the street from the Wynn casino
Maggianos I think is one of them |
I agree, The Steakhouse is fantastic. |

Agreed! I would try Gallagher's in NYNY. They have the largest New York strip steaks I've ever seen...soooooo good. |
I don't know what the food is like but the bar is something else. |
www.thecapitalgrille.com/Locations/LasVegas/Main.asp?Location=LasVegas That's the other one. Damn amazing dry aged steaks, great ambiance (get a corner table on the window side and you can overlook the entire strip), and it wasn't too expensive (I paid $90 bucks for a dry aged cajun rub, side, appetizer, and glass of 25 year single malt).... |
Prime is good if you can get it comped. Get a table near the fountains.
Otherwise head south to Fat Burger next to Walgreens. Hugo's Cellar is big with the locals. Downtown. |
all of those sound good, but if you want to spend a shit load of money and be waited on hand and foot, and eat haute cuisine, go to MGM to Joel Rubichon at the Mansion..........and dont even ask what it costs...........
Les Artists at Paris hotel was excellent, I was there recently, Id rate it up there with the Palm, Mortons, Ruths Chris, Smith and Wollenskys, Burton and Doyles, Peter Lugers etc. Very pleased.
Years ago I had a great seafood dinner at the Rosewood Grill, the lobsters were huge as was the bill, but I had just hit for almost $ 3K so who cared !!! Sidebar: I just got back from Washington D.C. I tried the new Bobby Vans - Way Excellent |
That's a bold statement right there, I'll have to try that one! |

Bradley Ogden's at Caesars and Fleur de Lis at Mandalay Bay are both fine dining establishments that I highly recommend.
When my wife and I were out there in Feb. for SHOT show my boss took us to the County Club restaurant which IIRC is at the Wynn hotel/casino, I had the best steak I've ever had there. We ate breakfast each day at the buffet at the Bellagio (we stayed at the Bellagio as well at the Spa tower side). We had dinner one night at the Jasime which was really good.
Beating out Morton's and Ruth's isn't that much of a challenge. It's not like they have a lock on the good stuff. |

Top of Stratoshpere is cool but the last time the guys and I went out there we ate almost every day at the buffet at Ballys and it freakin rocked!!! I was expecting it to be crap being a buffet but I prefered it over almost all the other waaaaay more expensive "fine dining" experiences.
Nines at the Palms Hotel and Casino; bar none the best steak in Vegas. Plus, its a celebrity magnet. And they have this great dessert where they bring flaming smores to your table. Bad Ass!
Also, if you like Thai food, go to Lotus of Siam and prepare to be amazed. It's in an out-of-the-way dingy strip mall and doesn't look like anything at all from the outside, but hoo boy, is it tasty.

+1 That's where my wife and had dinner the night we got married. You'll need to make reservations several weeks in advance though. |
Craftsteak in the MGM is one of my favorite places. I always eat there when I go to Vegas.

The Prime, located in the Bellagio. A great restaurant and great people watching. The main seating area in Prime over looks the water fountain pools. Have entertained multi-million dollar customers at this restaurant and food, wine and service were outstanding. On last visit there I chatted with Tony Curtis at the bar while waiting for our table. Enjoy.

AJ's steakhouse in the Hard Rock. Its kinda expensive though. Four of us went there during SHOT and the tab was close to $500.00. Fortunately is was a business dinner covered by the vendors expense account.
I had a really good dinner last month at Mon Ami Gabi, on the sidewalk at the Paris.
If that was the one on the north side with the "outdoor" patio area then I had breakfast there and they made some killer huge omelettes almost as thick as my forearm.
Thanks guys, these are some good suggestions. With my wife pregnant and due in early August, we are trying to get the Vegas trip, and 2 trips back east to relatives out of the way before she can't fly anymore.

Aureles a the Mandalay Bay is a very upscale place to have dinner and wine. The wine stewards are girls that use a pulley system to climb a tower of wine bottles to pick out exact bottles of wine for your entree. Make sure you do the wine pairing and you will have a 9 nine-course dinner with a different glass of wine matched to each entree.
Also, Nine at the The Palms has some 3 pound Australian lobsters that are the best I have EVER had. I am a lobster-eating fool and nothing has come close to this. Hope this helps some..... thanks, Ron |

The first night in Vegas we ate at Michael Mena's (sp?), the current incarnation from the former chef / owner of Aqua. It was good, and was a pretty good spanking. Until that meal, the only time I spent more for dinner was at the French Laundry. BUT ... Michael Mena's was just a warm up.
The next night was Bradley Ogden's at Caesars. Two salads, two entrees, 1/2 bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir, 1/2 bottle of white Burgandy (and not a grand cru), one dessert split two ways. That holds my personal record for most expensive dinner, about 25% more than the French Laundry price. There are better ways to spend money, on food that is almost as good. I saw an earlier vote the the Bellagio buffet. While not fine dining, the food is SOLID, with some nice quality stuff, seafood particularly. Go there at lunch, chow down, take a nap, and keep it light / nimble at night. |
DelMonico as one of the best steakhouses in Vegas? That kills the list for me. DelMonico was one of the worst meals I've ever eaten ANYwhere. |
