random thoughts. Im going to some job interviews and was curious whether or now "pleats" are still in style, been wearing a uniform for the last 10 years...  Im also moving in a few days and will be looking for a new place to live, just wondering what ya'll live like. |

My house is five years old and about 2340 sf with a second guest house of about 1250 sf. I set on just over one acre and have about five more acres on the south side of the Alaska Range.

980sqft on the main floor for tax purposes, but the basement is finished and only 4' below grade on one side of the house, so its got windows like a normal floor. So, its probably 1900sqft with whats carpeted and has painted drywall.

I got a small 1/2 acre lot, fenced in yard, a dog, 2 car garage and good neighbors. That's all I need except maybe a walk-in safe  ETA: I just looked at my deed and it's 1,650 sq ft.

I have 2200 in the house and 600 in the garage. The wife lets me mess up 300 sqft. for a office/gun/ computer room. and the garage is all mine, grease/oil/gun lube/ wood stove smoke, and a beer refrigerator.

The lights go off when not in use. I haven't tried the new LED bulbs you refer to. The house is total electric and not piped for gas. (it is a two story house that needs better insulation) When my oldest moves out we are out of here anyways, he is 16 now I have some land in the country waitng for me.
