This is an example of one of downsides of owning a factory built computer like a Dell.
If you had built the computer yourself, you could choose any compatible off-the-shelf replacement motherboard. |

I'd probably just buy a new laptop, and sell the old one one ebay for parts

I work on Dells all day. I will check to see what is laying around I know we have like 6 spare motherboards laying around, I will look tomorrow. I think a 5100. 2x 100L, 600m, maybe a 500.

I've got an Inspiron 1000 that just bit the dust. I am going to see what I can get on ebay for it. I've already had an offer for $200. |

I see alot of parts that mix and match between the 500m and the 600m, so maybe it will...... |
