i recieved this yesterday...
Patriot Guard Riders,
Once again we need to respond with great speed to another of our great hero's. SFC Brooks passed away this Monday at the age of 84. He served his country from June 3, 1942 until January 30, 1981. He fought in both WW II and Korea durung his time of service and also served during the Vietnam War. His last wish was to be buried in his uniform with full military honors.
His family stated that they are having trouble arranging this and have contacted Twister for help. He has assigned this to the Alabama Boys. Jim Lorezo will fulfill his duties as State Capt and I will ride as Ride Capt. You have all come through for me before on short notice missions. So I will ask you to do it again.
This man served his country well and long and deserves the best we can do. Respond as soon as you can so we can plan. As of now, details are not complete, but the service will be Thursday in Birmingham Al. Dinky has sent out an E-mail to all in Alabama but I just talked to RC who is going to pass the info to our Georgia brothers and sisters. I ask all who read this to try hard to make it.
I will count on all of you.
His grand daughter, Chandra Brooks, has requested our help in honoring her fathers wishes. I know we'll do that. More in the morning.
It turns out he had 3 yes 3 family members left. we had an enormous turn out and the PGR was even able to get a full honor guard and chaplin from Ft rucker to attend.
these guys are absolutely awesome.
