Did this Friday night playing lacrosse.  Foot stopped and rolled over trying to make a cut.  At least it's not broken as bad as the urgent care doctor thought.

Orthopedist said that the hair lime fracture they saw wasn't one.  But I did have some small bone fractures at  where the ligaments attach to the fibula.

Three weeks in a walking boot until my follow up.  There goes the season and part of my baseball season.

Ouch.  I hope it heals quickly.

It's light brown blonde.  My work boots also wear it of on my lower legs.

TRS I feel your pain.....

Did the same thing to my ankle sliding into second base playing softball in 1982.

Slid wrong and when my right foot hit the bag it folded under and stretched the outside ligament so bad and so quickly that it tore off a bone chip where it attaches to the bone.

Then it got misdiagnosed as "just a bad sprain."  Two months later and I still couldn't walk on it without a severe limp so back I went (to a different doc) and after new x-rays found out about the bone chip.

Four weeks of physical therapy later and I was back to about 85% and there I remain forever with my ankle permanantly swollen.

I did get back into jogging about 2 years after and didn't do too badly.  Usually just enough residual pain to remind me it was there though so I switched to lower impact exercises when those new fangled fancy treadmills and elipticals came out.

Got a permanant 10% VA disability for it.  Not worth it though, and I'm sure it will affect me more later as I get older.

Tape it up and play on it !

If you think thats bad, I should scan the photos my SSgt took when my achilles snapped during a PT run.  He gave me copies of the photos after I got outo f the hospital.  Makes me squirm when I see them, even now.
