Guys, I am writing a 3000 word essay for college on how the US government
using reasonable restrictions over the people's rights as a justification to
gain and consolidate power.

I already have a few very good examples written down, but the centerpiece
of the essay is going to be how .gov has become an opressive monster
through the uncontrolled abuse of the Commerce Clause.

I would REALLY like to have some good links
to credible websites like universities and political thinktanks, etc.
Not some blog, or ACLU, or anyplace that mentions UFOs, tinfoil hats, etc.

I know you can help me.
Thanks.

Justice Thomas' dissent in Gonzales v. Raich wid.ap.org/scotus/pdf/03-1454P.ZD1.pdf should be helpful.  Citing opinions of Justices (either concurring or dissenting) to help prove your point is valid authority in academic papers-don't let your teacher whacky moonbat professor tell you otherwise, even if he or she disagrees with Thomas.

Thanks.

Actually my Prof is a libertarian who thinks the war on drugs
is unconstitutional, and one should be able to own whatever kind of
weapon one may choose without any restrictions whatsoever.
He used to be a Reaganite.
