OK, how many kids do you have?
I had a talk with the wifey and I told her, I want 7 kids and she isn't too happy, she only wants 3 kids. I will fully support my kids with NO government assistance. Her reason is, she doesn't want to get out of "shape".  |

I have 3 kids. I wanted 4 but it wasn't in the cards. After numerous miscarriages and difficult pregnancies, I'm happy with my 3.

My wife and I have four. I just turned 30. We have no multiples (twins/triplets/etc.) We plan on having as many as God blesses us with. No, we're not Catholic or Mormon, but children are God's ultimate blessing.

Just one, he already exists, that's it. I'll be 37 when he turns 18 in 9 years and that sounds good to me. He lives with me most of the time now. If he wants to go to college and still needs some support that's fine, it still sounds good knowing I'll be out of the kid business by my early 40's hopefully.

Raising a daughter isn't hard. My oldest is 7, and she's great. You treat daughters kindly, correct their mistakes, love them, and watch as they grow up. Last weekend my daughter helped me put down laminate flooring. For her 8th birthday this year she gets her .22 since she's shown she can handle the responsibility. I'll be spending all summer building it for her. She's like a tomboy who likes dresses and frilly stuff. Definitely a daddy's girl. Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas... |

It's good to start early, wish I started when I was in my early 20's but I had other things to take care of, so the marriage + kids thing was put on hold until the last couple years.... It's nice to be a friend as well as a Dad to your grown up kids, see it all the time..... good for you. |

Oh not complaining at all! They're great! My wife and I were only dating a few months when she got pregnant with our first. Long story short, 9 years and 3 kids later, we couldn't be happier. We never talked about having kids until we were having one. Life works in mysterious ways I suppose. I think that the point I'm trying to make is, sometimes, it's lifes surprises that turn out to be the most rewarding. I couldn't imagine my life without any of them now. |

Got 4. All boys. Three now in the service. Wasn't easy, but also a lot of fun along the way. Youngest is now 20. Damn it sure went fast.

While it's possible, I am not concerned. I have a shotgun, a .45, and a shovel.  Seriously, we have a couple of things going for us:1. We home school, so we have a good relationship with her. Plus we know all of her friends and their families. Also, none of our children will date in the traditional sense. My daughter already knows that we will be practicing old fashioned courting while she is supported by us. 2. I've always treated my daughter with love and respect and told her that anyone interested in her better treat her better than I treat her or her mother. While our relationship is not perfect, my wife and I do provide a good example of what a loving relationship should be. 3. She's daddy's girl, but she's not spoiled. She hears no a lot more often than she hears yes when she wants something. 4. We don't watch TV, so she doesn't see all the stupid stereotypes she's expected to fit into as a kid and a young woman. Pop culture isn't doing our children any good, especially the young women who are taught they have to be sex objects and live up to unattainable stereotypes to have any self worth. 5. She's a beautiful kid, and she knows it without being conceited, and that's not just a biased father talking; she's been offered modeling work for Foley's and other print media since she was 5, but we did not like the people or the conditions. I'm not dropping her off at a photo shoot and then waiting in another room while they take pictures of my child without me or my wife present, and it doesn't matter how reputable the agency or who their clients are. And, I still have that shotgun and a shovel. Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas... |
